CHOCOLATE-MARSHMALLOW MUG CAKES
2019 marks the 100th birthday of Hostess's iconic cupcakes, so Food Network Magazine whipped up some look-alike mug cakes!

- To make a batch, whisk 1/2 cup each sugar and buttermilk, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 1 egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla in a large bowl until smooth. Whisk in 1⁄3 cup flour, 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/8 teaspoon baking soda and a pinch of salt. Butter 4 small microwave-safe mugs and divide the batter among them. Microwave, one at a time, until a toothpick comes out clean, about 2 minutes. Make a slit in the center of each cake and pipe marshmallow cream into the slit. Top the cake with warmed chocolate frosting, then pipe white frosting squiggles on top.

MAMA'S INDULGENCE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
Here is a quick, incredibly delicious, chocolate mug cake that you can make in under 7 minutes, and it is healthier than all other mug cake recipes I have seen, and we think better! It is perfect for the quick chocolate fix, or the late night sweet tooth indulgence.

Steps:
- In microwave safe large mug mix dry ingredients.
- Add wet ingredients, except hot water, and mix well with spoon.
- Add hot water and stir in until incorporated scrapping bottom of mug with spoon.
- Cook on high in microwave for 2-3 minutes. 2 minutes 30 seconds is perfect in my microwave. Cake should still look a bit wet / moist, but be cooked through. Best not to overcook.
- Let cool a few minutes and enjoy. Add you favorite topping if you like.

CHOCOLATE INDULGENCE CAKE
This is the easiest, yet most impressive dessert I have come across. It is so beautiful by the end that you almost don't want to cut it...until you taste a slice! I substituted Semi-Sweet chocolate for the Bittersweet, and it tasted just as good. Also, I had to bake this an extra 5 or 10 minutes.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted; cool to room temperature.
- Beat eggs and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until thickened. Add chocolate mixture; stir with wire whisk until well blended.
- Add four; stir until well blended. Pour into greased and floured 9-inch round cake pan.
- Bake 30 minutes or until center is set. Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.
- To garnish, arrange some fresh berries in the center of the cake and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

DARK CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
To be clear: this is a recipe designed to eat one portion of cake in lieu of making a whole one. I DO NOT know why this is listed as kid friendly and that should NOT be construed as 'my kid can make this with no supervision'. In my UI it says it is in the category "Dietary > Kid-Friendly" so maybe that is why. As in they will eat it because it is cake and they are kids. Kids tend to like cake and not complain about what is in it. BUT don't make your kid make his own cake, mug or otherwise. At least help him with it. LOL

Steps:
- Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Set aside to cool for a minute or two. EDIT: OR MELT IN THE MUG. Keep an eye on it though and try not to cry if/when it seizes.
- Add flour, cinnamon, and sugar to a small mixing bowl; mix well.
- Add in the egg and mix again.
- Add in the milk and mix yet again.
- Add in the chocolate-butter mixture and mix once more.
- Pour into a large coffee mug and microwave on medium power for two minutes, then high power for about a minute. Cake is done when a skewer test comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool (while you're cleaning up is sufficient) and dig in! Add a scoop of your favorite ice cream on top for a delicious change of pace.
