Number Of Ingredients 13

3 cups uncooked tricolor spiral pasta
1 can (20 ounces) pineapple tidbits, drained
3/4 pound imitation crabmeat, chopped
1 large sweet red pepper, diced
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
3 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon grated lime zest
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a serving bowl, combine the pineapple, crab, red and jalapeno peppers and cilantro., Drain and rinse pasta in cold water; add to crab mixture. In a small bowl, whisk the remaining ingredients. Pour over salad and toss to coat. Chill until serving.

1/2 cup celery (chopped)
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons onions (chopped)
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix Krab, Celery and Onion together.
  • Add Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, Salt, Pepper, Paprika & Lemon Juice.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours & Serve.

This humble and interesting dish graced every festive family meal, created by my host-mom in Voronezh, Russia. We've shared it back home with friends here in the states, and they get hooked! It seems like the flavors wont mix, but they do perfectly. The dish is so versatile, it can be served cold with crackers or baguette slices, between slices of bread for a sandwich, or pop it in the oven for a gooey cheesy dip. If you can afford it, try fresh crab. But honestly, the imitation crab does just fine. Try it, you'll like it! :)

16 ounces imitation crabmeat (small packages, or if you can afford it, substitute fresh crab)
1 (20 ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained
1 cup sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded (extra sharp is best, but can substitute yellow cheddar)
1 cup mayonnaise (if you can find it, use Russian mayo- it's the best!)
2 -3 teaspoons fresh cracked pepper
1 teaspoon salt
baguette (Sliced and toasted, or buttery crackers are good)

Steps:

  • Dice crab meat into small cubes, making them same approximate size as pineapple tidbits, combine together.
  • In bowl combine mayo, shredded cheese, salt and pepper, add to crab mixture.
  • Chill (or serve warm) with crackers or toasted baguette slices.

3 large pineapple
2/3 cup cashew nuts
1/2 cup coconut, slivers
1 cup cream
4 tablespoons honey
1 1/2-3 ounces white rum (to taste, 1-2 shots)

Steps:

  • Peel the pineapples and cut the flesh into cubes.
  • In a dry frying pan, toast separately the cashews and coconut until lightly browned, then set aside to cool.
  • Mix together the cream, honey and rum to taste and pour this mixture over the pineapple cubes.
  • Reserve some of the toasted cashews and coconut to use a garnish, then add the remainder to the pineapple.
  • Mix well and place in the refrigerator to chill.
  • Before serving, garnish with the reserved cashews and coconut slivers.

This has become a staple in my family over the years. It is always present at family gatherings. This is great for potlucks and other gatherings, easily doubled and great tasting.

1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple
3/4 cup sugar
1 (1/4 ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup pecans (optional)
1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip

Steps:

  • In med sauce pan mix pineapple, sugar, and gelatin. Bring to boil. Continue boiling for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in softened cream cheese until cheese is melted and well mixed.
  • Add pecans (optional)and allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Fold in Cool Whip and refrigerate for several hours.
  • **Best if refrigerated overnight**.

1 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
3 tablespoons creamy French dressing (I use Kraft)
1 cup quartered ripe olives
1/2 cup diced celery
12 ounces crabmeat, flaked
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 whole fresh pineapple

Steps:

  • Toss together rice, curry and parsley.
  • Drizzle with french dressing and toss well.
  • Fold in olives, crab and mayonnaise.
  • REFRIGERATE.
  • Cut pineapple in half (leaving greenery attached) and hollow, leaving 1/2 inch shell.
  • Cut up 1 cup pineapple chunks and mix into salad.
  • Mound in pineapple shells.

This tastes better than any Krab salad from a Deli. You can substitute cooked Krab and shrimp for the 12 oz. cooked Krab. Adjust the amount of mayonnaise to suit your own taste. The two hours cooking time is actually the time in the refrigerator. Have plenty of your favorite crackers on hand!

12 ounces imitation crabmeat, pre-cooked, found in seafood section at grocery store
1 small celery rib, chopped fine
1 green onion, chopped fine, include green and white part
2 tablespoons lemon juice, bottled or fresh (fresh is best)
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1/2 cup Best Foods Mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Place chopped celery and green onion in a medium sized bowl.
  • Roughly chop the Krab (or Krab and shrimp) into bite-sized pieces and place in the bowl on top of the veggies.
  • Pour lemon juice over the Krab.
  • Sprinkle dill weed over the top.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Stir in mayonnaisse and taste for seasoning.
  • Adjust if needed.
  • Cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours or so to make the flavors pop.
  • Serve with crackers.
