An easy dry rub for pork ribs mix that is so delicious, you won't even need BBQ sauce! Our version is sugar free and makes enough for multiple batches of pork ribs. This makes the BEST pork rib rub!

1 Tbsp cumin
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp ground garlic
1 Tbsp ground onion powder
1 Tbsp smoked paprika
2 Tbsp sea salt
1 Tbsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp stevia (or 2 tsp sugar or brown sugar)

Steps:

  • Put all of the ingredients in a small bowl and mix until combined
  • Store in a 4 oz jar for up to 2-3 years, until it starts losing flavor.
  • The recipe makes 7 Tablespoons of dry rub for pork, most recipes will call for 1-2 Tablespoons of dry rub mixture.

4 racks pork ribs (or as many racks as required)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 teaspoon mustard powder
2 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons brown sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • Cut pork ribs into sections of 3 or 4 bones.
  • Mix remaining ingredients well, sprinkle on both sides of ribs and rub into the meat.
  • Seal rib sections in foil with a tablespoon of water in each package, and bake for 2 hours on a cookie sheet in the center of the oven.
  • Open foil carefully as steam escapes.
  • Can be crisped on a hot BBQ if desired but will be great just the way it is.
  • (Enjoy with oven cooked potato nuggets for a really simple meal).

These are delicious, foolproof and easy - the recipe is flexible in terms of time. Most of the work is done slow-cooking the ribs in the oven - they're just finished on the barbecue or under the broiler. If it looks familiar, the rub has been posted as a smoked Spanish paprika dry rub - it's our favorite. Go ahead, put the ribs in the oven and let them cook while you go to the movies - how easy is that?

2 baby back rib racks
1 tablespoon garlic salt
2 tablespoons spanish smoked paprika
2 tablespoons dried rosemary
2 tablespoons dried thyme
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon lemon pepper
1/3 cup cider or 1/3 cup distilled vinegar

Steps:

  • Boil the ribs for 5 minutes in water flavored with garlic salt.
  • Drain and cut the rib racks into four sections and cover with the rub.
  • Place the ribs in a foil-lined shallow dish and pour the vinegar into the bottom of the pan.
  • Cover the pan securely with foil and bake, sealed in the foil, at 275 degrees for 2-3 hours (you may adjust the temperature and baking time to suit your needs - if you need more time just lower the temperature).
  • When ribs are tender and bones start to loosen, grill them over medium-low flame.
  • We like them without sauce - this is a terrific rub for ribs and needs nothing else.

2 Tbsp paprika, sweet mild
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dry mustard powder
1 tsp basil, dried
1 tsp salt
1/4 - 1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper, or same amount liquid hot sauce

Steps:

  • 1. If using liquid hot sauce, rub this into meat first. IF using Cayenne powder, combine with below ingredients.
  • 2. In a small bowl stir to combine Cayenne powder (if using), paprika, chili powder, garlic & onion powders, dry mustard, basil & salt.
  • 3. Rub powdered seasoning mixture well into both sides of meat.
  • 4. Cook or grill as desired.
