Jello Roll Ups with Marshmallow image

These Jello Roll-Ups are a simple and delicious dessert. Serve up these Jello pinwheels for a snack after dinner. This Jello dessert is so easy to make and your kids and family will love this recipe.

1 box of Jello (3 ounces)
1/2 cup water + 3 tablespoons
1 cup mini marshmallows

Steps:

  • Heat up your 1/2 cup water for 1-2 minutes in the microwave.
  • Add in your Jello packet and stir well. Once dissolved, add in 3 tablespoons cold water.
  • Stir again, and then add in the mini marshmallows, and heat in the microwave for 20-30 second intervals. Stir until the marshmallows are fully melted.
  • When melted pour into a greased 8x8 pan, and cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until the jello is set.
  • For the jello roll ups, you will slice into strips, then roll the set up jello.

How to Make Jello Roll-ups image

Such a fun and easy cooking activity for kids during the summer!

1 small package of Jello
1/2 cup of boiling water
1 cup of small marshmallows

Steps:

  • In a microwave safe bowl, mix together the Jello mix and the hot water.
  • Stir until dissolved. If it's not dissolving, microwave the mixture for 30 seconds and keep stirring. Repeat until you get it all dissolved.
  • Add the marshmallows and microwave for another 30 seconds.
  • Mix together until the marshmallows are completely melted.
  • Pour mixture into a greased 8" x 8" pan and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  • Use a knife to cut around the edges of the pan to release the Jello.
  • Roll the Jello as tightly as you can.
  • Cut into 1" wide pieces using a sharp, thin knife.

1 (3 ounce) package Jello
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows (or 12 large marshmallows)

Steps:

  • Lightly spray an 8 or 9 inch pan square pan with non-stick cooking spray and make sure it is well covered. Bring water to a boil in microwave, about 1 minute. Add gelatin and stir well. Return to microwave for 1 minute and stir well. (This step ensures that Jello is completely dissolved.) Add marshmallows and return to microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute or until marshmallows are puffed and slightly melted. Whisk until marshmallows are completely dissolved. Creamy layer will float to the top. Pour into prepared pan. Refrigerate 45 minutes or until well set- they should be very firm and easy to handle. Loosen edges with a knife. Starting at one end, roll up tightly. With seam side down, cut into 10-12 (1/2) inch slices. We found it easiest to cut with a piece of thread or dental floss. Just put the string around roll-up, cross and pull. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

1 1/4 pounds chopped fruit (see below for suggested flavors)
3/4 cup sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F. Combine the fruit and sugar in a blender. Add the lemon juice to taste (use 2 tablespoons for apples or bananas) and puree until smooth.
  • Transfer the pureed fruit to a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to medium low and cook, stirring occasionally at first and then more often toward the end, until most of the liquid evaporates and the mixture is very thick, 35 to 45 minutes. Be careful: The mixture may splatter.
  • Line a 12-by-17-inch rimmed baking sheet with a silicone mat or nonstick foil. Use an offset spatula to spread the fruit on the mat or foil into a thin layer. Bake until barely tacky, 3 hours to 3 hours, 30 minutes.
  • Transfer the baking sheet to a rack and let the fruit leather cool completely. Peel off of the mat or foil. If the leather is still moist on the underside, return it to the oven, moist-side up, until dry, about 20 more minutes. Lay the leather smooth-side down on a sheet of wax paper and use kitchen shears to cut it into strips on the paper. Roll up the strips and store in zip-top bags for up to 1 week.
  • Plum: 5 medium, unpeeled, chopped
  • Peach or nectarine: 5 medium, unpeeled, chopped
  • Apple: 3 large (Gala or Granny Smith), peeled and chopped
  • Strawberry: 4 cups, hulled and chopped
  • Raspberry: 5 cups
  • Grape: 3 1/2 cups (preferably Concord), seeded if necessary
  • Banana: 5 medium, peeled
  • Mango: 2 large, peeled and chopped
  • Raspberry-Vanilla: 5 cups raspberries plus the seeds from 1/2 vanilla bean
  • Strawberry-Banana: 3 cups strawberries, hulled and chopped, plus 2 medium bananas, peeled
  • Apple-Ginger: 3 large apples, peeled and chopped, plus 1 1/2 teaspoons grated ginger
  • Spicy Mango: 2 large mangoes, peeled and chopped, plus 1/8 teaspoon each salt and cayenne pepper

1 (3 ounce) box sugar-free jello

Steps:

  • Mix applesauce and Jell-O.
  • Spread in food dehydrator, or a fruit leather tray, or a plastic wrapped tray.
  • Dry by your dehydrator's manufacturer's instructions, until no wet spots are left.
  • I have used all sorts of fruit puree not just apple sauce.
  • Use your favorite flavor of Jell-O.
