A bushel of peaches gave me a reason to create a wine cocktail. I meant to serve it with our meal, but we "taste-tested" it while grilling. -Katie Ferrier Gage, Houston, Texas

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 large piece fresh gingerroot (about 3 inches), peeled and coarsely chopped
COCKTAIL:
1/4 cup orange liqueur
2 medium ripe peaches, peeled and halved
1 bottle (750 milliliters) white wine, chilled
Ice cubes
1 to 1-1/2 cups chilled ginger ale
Fresh mint leaves and peach slices, optional

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine sugar, water and ginger; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes. Cool completely. Pour syrup through a strainer into a covered container; discard ginger., Place liqueur and 1/4 cup ginger syrup in a blender. (Cover and refrigerate remaining syrup for another use.) Add peaches; cover and process until smooth., Transfer mixture to a 2-qt. pitcher; stir in wine. Serve over ice, topping with ginger ale. If desired, serve with mint and peach slices.

0.5oz lime juice
0.25oz light agave syrup

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake well. Double strain into a glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with a slice of peach if desired.

2 (40 ounce) bottles peach juice
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup peach schnapps
cinnamon stick
peach slices (to garnish)

Steps:

  • Heat the peach juice, brown sugar and four cinnamon sticks in a very large pot until boiling. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3 minuters.
  • Remove the cinnamon sticks and add the peach schnapps. Serve in individual glasses with additional cinnamon sticks and peach slices.

Out of all the cobblers I have tried, this is my favorite! I got this from one of my sisters, and changed it a litttle. Sometimes I add raspberries or blueberries, etc.

4 cups peaches, peeled, sliced
2 cups sugar, divided
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon allspice (or mace or cloves)
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Place peaches in bowl, add 1 cup sugar. Stir and set aside for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, sift all dry ingredients together in another bowl.
  • In separate bowl, add vanilla to milk. Stir dry ingredients into milk mixture.
  • Melt butter and add to milk/flour mixture. Place peach/sugar mixture in 11"x 8" baking dish. Pour batter over top.
  • Bake at 350*F. 30 minutes. Then turn up to 400*F. and bake another 15 minutes.
  • Enjoy!

10 sheets phyllo dough
2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon sugar
1 1/2 cups peaches, thinly sliced
1/2 cup kiwi, sliced
4 (8 ounce) containers tropical peach yogurt or 4 (8 ounce) containers peach yogurt, drained in cheesecloth for 1 hour
1/4 cup peach preserves

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F Spray a 7x11-inch tart pan with butter-flavored cooking spray.
  • Cut 1-inch square notches in the corners of the dough. Press 5 sheets of the phyllo into the pan; fold edges over toward the center of the pan. Spray dough with cooking spray; sprinkle with 1 teaspoons cinnamon-sugar, repeat. Press phyllo against sides of tart pan to secure.
  • Bake 10-15 minutes, until golden brown. Cool toss fruit slices with remaining cinnamon-sugar, spoon yogurt into shell, top with fruit. In saucepan, over medum heat melt preserves and brush on top of fruit.

1/4 cup sugar
2 cups water
1 (12 ounce) can frozen orange juice, thawed
1 (12 ounce) can frozen lemonade, thawed
3 cups water
2 1/2 cups schnapps, peach flavored
1/3 cup lemon juice
ginger ale, slice soda or carbonated lemon-lime beverage

Steps:

  • In a medium pan, boil sugar and 2 cups water for 3 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • In large non-metal container (a 1 gallon ice cream bucket works well), combine sugar-water mixture, concentrates, 3 cups water, schnapps, and lemon juice.
  • Cover.
  • Put in freezer until frozen. (about 4 hours).
  • Before serviong, stir up.
  • Spoon 1/2 cup slush mixture in a glass.
  • Stir in 1/4 cup ginger ale, lemon lime soda, or slice. Or to taste.
