I found this recipe in an old church cookbook and made my own variations.I make it for my family of "honey bunnies"!!!!

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix or 1 (18 ounce) package white cake mix
1/4 cup nuts, chopped (your choice)
1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
3/4 cup oil
8 ounces sour cream
3/4 cup brown sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup powdered sugar
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon milk

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Combine cake mix,nuts,sugar,eggs, oil and sour cream.
  • In a separate bowl mix brown sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
  • Pour cake batter into TWO 8x8x2 inch square pan.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over batter and swirl with knife.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
  • While cake is baking, mix the powdered sugar, butter and milk. [You may need to add more milk; it should be the consistiency of a thin paste.].
  • When cake is done, poke holes in the top with a fork and pour powdered sugar mixture over the top.

  • Preheat oven to 300F and lightly grease a 13 x 9" baking pan.
  • Mix the first four ingredients together well.
  • Pour into prepared pan.
  • Combine brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans.
  • Swirl into cake batter.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until cake tests done.
  • Glaze: Mix all ingredients and pour over warm cake.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Combine cake mix, eggs, oil, water and cream cheese in a mixing bowl; beat on medium speed until smooth.
  • Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine bown sugar, cinnamon and pecans; set aside.
  • Pour half the batter into a greased and floured 13X9X2-inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle half the sugar mixture over batter.
  • Pour remaining batter in baking dish and sprinkle remaining sugar mixture on top.
  • Swirl with a knife.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until cake tests done.
  • Mix ingredients together for glaze.
  • Remove cake from oven and drizzle glaze over cake.
  • Cool.

1 (15.25-oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix
¾ cup canola oil
4 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
½ cup packed light brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoons ground nutmeg
2 ½ cups powdered sugar (about 10 oz.)
3 - 4 tablespoons whole milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 10- to 15-cup Bundt pan with baking spray.
  • Beat cake mix, oil, eggs, sour cream, and 1 teaspoon of the vanilla in a large bowl with an electric mixer on high speed until well combined, about 2 minutes.
  • Stir together brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl.
  • Spoon half of the batter into prepared Bundt pan. Sprinkle brown sugar mixture over cake batter about 1/4-inch from edges; top with remaining batter. Use a knife to swirl brown sugar layer into batter.
  • Bake in preheated oven until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 40 to 45 minutes. Transfer pan to a wire rack, and cool 10 minutes. Remove cake from pan, and cool completely on a wire rack, about 1 hour.
  • Whisk together powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons of the milk, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth, adding up to 1 tablespoon milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, to reach desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled cake.

1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 cup sour cream
3/4 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup nuts, finely chopped
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Combine all the cake ingredients and set aside.
  • Thoroughly combine the filling ingredients.
  • Pour half of the cake mix batter into baking pan and top with the filling ingredients. Pour the rest of the cake batter on top.
  • (I like to split it further and do batter, filling, batter, filling and then batter. If I really want something sweet I drizzle a little honey on top before baking.).
  • Bake at 350 degrees F. for 38-40 minutes in a 13x9" greased baking pan or Bundt cake pan. Meanwhile prepare the sugar glaze.
  • Cool cake on wire rack. Make sure you have something under the rack to catch the glaze though.
  • While still warm, poke holes in the cake and pour the glaze over it.
  • Enjoy!

2/3 cup pecan pieces (optional)
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Mix well cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water, sour cream.
  • In a separate bowl combine sugar, cinnamon (and pecans if used).
  • Spray 13x9 pan with Pam spray.
  • Pour 1/2 of batter into pan.
  • Sprinkle sugar mixture on the batter already in pan.
  • Pour rest of batter on top of batter and sugar that are in pan.
  • Swirl a knife thru the batter.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
  • While cake is warm top with a glaze (mixture of powdered sugar, milk and vanilla).

¾ cup vegetable oil

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, oil, eggs and sour cream. Stir by hand approximately 50 strokes, or until most large lumps are gone. Pour half of the batter into an ungreased 9x13 inch glass baking dish. Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle over the batter in the cake pan.   • To Make the frosting: In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioner's sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth.

1 Tbsp cinnamon
