Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Put the flour, baking powder, salt and garlic powder in a food processor and pulse a few times to combine. Add the cold butter and pulse until the dry ingredients and the butter are mostly combined. (If you do not have a food processor, this can be done with a pastry cutter.)
- Add the Parmesan, parsley, oregano and thyme. Drizzle in the milk and pulse (or stir in with a wooden spoon) until the mixture has just turned into a dough. Be careful not to overmix, as the biscuits will become tough when baked if you do.
- Using 2 large spoons, drop 1/2-cup sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. This will make 6 generously sized biscuits.
- Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes, depending on your oven. Brush the warm biscuits with the melted butter. Enjoy!

Yield 16 garlic knots

Steps:
- Cut 1 pound pizza dough into 4 pieces; flatten each into a 4-inch square. Cut each square into 4 strips; tie each strip into a knot. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with olive oil and loosely cover with plastic wrap; let rise 1 hour. Uncover and bake at 400 degrees F until golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Combine 3 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 3 minced garlic cloves, 2 anchovy fillets, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes in a saucepan over medium heat; cook 1 to 2 minutes. Toss the knots with the butter and 3 tablespoons minced parsley; sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
EASY GARLIC KNOTS
Steps:
- Sprinkle flour lightly over your work surface. Roll the pizza dough into a disc and sprinkle both sides lightly with flour. Cut the dough into 10 equal pieces.
- Roll one piece of dough into an 8-inch log. Tie a knot in the center of the log (by creating a loop in the center of the log and threading one end of the log through the loop to form a tight knot). Place the knot into an 8-inch cast-iron skillet. Repeat this process with the remaining 9 pieces of dough. Spread a clean towel over the skillet and place in a warm area to proof for 1 to 2 hours. After proofing, the knots should look slightly puffed.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, olive oil, kosher salt, garlic powder and fresh garlic. Generously brush each knot with the butter mixture, being careful to leave the fresh garlic at the bottom of the bowl.
- Bake the knots for 25 to 30 minutes. Carefully remove the skillet from the oven and pour the remaining garlic butter over the partially baked knots. Return the skillet to the oven and bake until the knots are golden brown and the garlic is caramelized, 15 minutes more.
- Sprinkle the knots with the Parmesan cheese, parsley and sea salt. Serve immediately.

Steps:
- Brush the bottom of a rimmed baking sheet with 1 tablespoon olive oil and place the pizza dough on top. Brush the top of the dough with the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and cover lightly with plastic wrap. Let rest at room temperature until just about doubled in size, 1 hour.
- Cut off the rind from the sides of the Brie wheel, then cut the Brie into 18 equal-sized cubes. Set aside.
- Lightly flour a work surface. Using floured hands, shape the dough into an 18-by-4-inch-rectangle. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into eighteen 1-inch-wide strips.
- Shape each strip into a 10-inch-long rope and tie into a knot, tucking the two ends of the rope underneath it. Divide the knots between two baking sheets and let rest until slightly puffed, 40 to 45 minutes.
- Meanwhile, position the oven racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven and preheat to 425 degrees F.
- Cut a small slit in the top of each knot with a sharp paring knife and use your fingers to create a small well. Spoon a heaping 1/4 teaspoon cranberry sauce into each well and top with 1 piece of Brie. Reserve the remaining cranberry sauce for serving.
- Brush the tops of the knots with 4 tablespoons of the butter. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of black pepper. Bake until the cheese is melted, and the dough is fully cooked and turning light golden, 20 to 25 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
- Meanwhile, stir together the remaining cranberry sauce and 2 tablespoons butter in a small bowl. Serve with the knots for dipping.

Steps:
- Prepare the recipe for Simple Pizza Dough. While the dough is rising, prepare the remaining ingredients for the garlic knots and preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Mix the butter with the thyme, rosemary, 2 tablespoons Parmesan and garlic.
- Turn the risen dough out onto a floured surface. Stretch the dough into a rectangle. Spread half of the butter mixture on half of the dough. Then fold the dough in half, covering the butter with the dough.
- Using a pizza wheel, divide the dough into 18 strips. First cut through the middle, then you can cut each half into 9 pieces. Stretch each strip and tie into a knot and tuck the ends underneath the center of the knot. Place the knots onto a baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the knots with some of the Parmesan and bake until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over low heat, melt the remaining herb butter.
- Once the knots come out of the oven, baste them with the melted butter and sprinkle them with the remaining Parmesan. Serve warm and enjoy!
- In a liquid measuring cup, combine the warm water, yeast and sugar. Allow the yeast to dissolve and bloom, about 5 minutes. Once bloomed, add the olive oil.
- Meanwhile, in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the flour and salt. Stream in the water/yeast mixture and as the dough begins to come together, switch to a dough hook attachment. Allow the dough to knead, adding a bit more flour if needed, so that the dough releases from the sides of the bowl, 1 to 3 minutes. You should be able to touch the dough and not have the dough stick to your fingers. Once the dough has kneaded and has pulled away from the sides of the bowl, remove the dough from bowl to a floured work surface and, with floured hands, continue to knead it by hand for 1 to 2 minutes. Then form the dough into a round ball and place it into a large bowl sprayed with nonstick spray. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean dish towel and let the dough rise in a warm area of your kitchen until it doubles in size, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. After the dough has risen it is ready to be cooked however you'd like!
- Cook's Notes: This dough is wet dough, keep bench flour at the ready and make sure to flour your hands when working with the dough. Trust your gut as a chef, if the dough is to wet, add more flour, if it is too stiff, add a little water.
- Sugar is used to feed the yeast which will help the dough to grow. Bread flour will give you a chewier texture because the flour has more gluten. You don't need to use a thermometer to get the water temperature, it should just feel warm to the touch.
