1 (8 ounce) can condensed reduced sodium cream of mushroom soup
1 cup leftover mixed vegetables, carrots, green beans, peas, corn (or no salt added canned mixed vegetables or frozen)
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • In a medium-sized sauce pan, mix milk, vegetables, chicken, condensed soup, and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about a half an hour.
  • Serve hot with biscuits, crackers, or dinner rolls.

  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl whisk together milk and flour until smooth. Stir mixture into cooked stew mixture. Return to boiling; reduce heat. Cook and stir about 2 minutes or until mixture is thickened. To serve, ladle stew into four bowls. Sprinkle each serving with cracked black pepper.
