CREAMY HAM AND NOODLE CASSEROLE



Creamy Ham and Noodle Casserole image

Make dinnertime a snap with my Creamy Ham and Noodle Casserole! This is also perfect if you are looking for a leftover ham recipe!

8 ounces egg noodles ( 4 to 4 1/2 cups)
2 cups chopped cooked ham
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 10 1/2 ounce can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and rinse to remove any starch, set aside.
  • Pre-heat the oven to 350 °F. Place half of the noodles in buttered 2 quart casserole dish.
  • Combine the ham and cheese; sprinkle half of ham mixture over noodles.
  • In small bowl, combine soup, sour cream, milk,garlic powder and onion powder.
  • Spoon half of soup mixture over the ham layer.
  • Then again: noodles, ham/cheese, soup.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Cover loosely with foil.
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes until it looks creamy and not soupy. Remove from the oven and serve.

This 5-Ingredient Ham and Noodle Casserole is an easy one dish meal that takes advantage of your delicious leftovers!

1 (12 ounce) package broad egg noodles
1 tablespoon mustard ((yellow mustard, honey mustard, or Dijon mustard will all work well, so pick your favorite))
2-4 cups diced cooked ham ((or any leftover meat))
1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup (not diluted)
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Optional addition: 4 cups frozen French-style green beans or other veggies of your choice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Cook egg noodles just until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain.
  • While the noodles are cooking, place mustard, ham, condensed soup, and optional frozen green beans in a large bowl.
  • Pour the drained, cooked, hot noodles over the rest of the ingredients in the bowl and stir to combine.
  • Transfer noodle mixture to prepared baking dish. Top with grated cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove foil, return to the oven (uncovered) for 20-25 more minutes, or until cheese is melted and casserole is heated through.

2 tablespoons butter, divided
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2/3 cup 2% milk
1/2 cup cubed process cheese (Velveeta)
1 cup cubed fully cooked ham
1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

Steps:

  • Cook noodles according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter; stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in cheese until melted., Drain noodles. Add the noodles, ham and peas to cheese sauce. Pour into a 3-cup baking dish coated with cooking spray. Melt remaining butter; toss with bread crumbs and parsley. 6 cups water
4 cups uncooked egg noodles
1 onion, chopped
½ cup sour cream
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
2 cups diced cooked ham
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
salt and pepper to taste
¼ cup dry bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 2-quart casserole.
  • Bring water to a full rolling boil in a pot.. Cook the egg noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes; remove from heat, cover, and let stand until the noodles are tender, about 10 minutes. Drain.
  • Stir the noodles, onion, sour cream, chicken soup, ham, and Swiss cheese together in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon into the prepared casserole. Sprinkle the top with bread crumbs.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the casserole is bubbling and the bread crumbs have browned, about 40 minutes.

My family is not big on ham but I love it. This is a good recipe to make and freeze the left overs into single serve portions. I also added a small amount of chopped onions and some black pepper and extra cheese because I love cheese =)

vegetable oil
1 cup ham, cubed
10 3/4 ounces cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • Cook noodles according to package directions until barely tender (I cook approximately 5 to 6 minutes).
  • Drain and toss with just enough oil to coat.
  • Add noodles and remaining ingredients to a greased crock pot or use a crock pot liner, and stir to mix.

1 cup water
3 cups uncooked dumpling egg noodles (5 oz)
2 boxes (10 oz each) frozen broccoli, cauliflower, carrots & cheese flavored sauce

  • In 3-quart saucepan, heat broth and water to boiling. Add noodles; return to boiling. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 8 to 10 minutes or until noodles are tender and most of liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally (do not drain).
