The only difference today is that I can't get home-smoked ham like those Grandpa used to cure in his old-fashioned smokehouse. But that never matters to hungry folks at the table-Grandma's recipe is a winner every time!"

2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 pound ground fully cooked ham
1/2 pound ground pork
GLAZE:
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
2 tablespoons water

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs; add milk, bread crumbs and pepper. Add ham and pork; mix well. In a shallow baking pan, shape meat mixture into an 8x4-in. oval. Insert a thermometer. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. , Meanwhile, combine glaze ingredients. Spoon over loaf. Bake 40 minutes longer or until the thermometer reads 170°, basting occasionally with glaze.

1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 cup bread crumbs
½ teaspoon salt
ground black pepper to taste
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup water
1 teaspoon ground mustard
¼ cup distilled white vinegar

Steps:

  • Combine ham, beef, egg, milk, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Form into loaf. Place in a casserole dish.
  • Combine brown sugar, water, mustard, and vinegar in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to boil, and boil for 10 minutes. Pour over loaf.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until done, about 1 hour, basting occasionally.

1 pound ground ham (about 3 cups)
1 pound ground pork
2 to 2 1/2 cups soft white bread crumbs
2 large eggs
3/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 TBSP lemon juice
1 tsp. curry powder
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
2 TBSP yellow mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
Ketchup (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a broiler pan by covering the bottom portion in foil. Replace the slotted top and spray lightly with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • In large bowl, with hands, combine the ground ham, ground pork, and 2 cups soft bread crumbs.
  • In medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, sour cream, onion, lemon juice, ginger, nutmeg, and mustard.
  • Pour wet ingredients into bowl with ham/pork/breadcrumb mixture and combine with hands until it all comes together. If it feel too wet, add the rest of the breadcrumbs.
  • Shape into an oblong loaf onto prepared broiler pan. Let sit for about 30 minutes before putting into oven.
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Baste with 1/2 the glaze. Return to oven and bake for another 15 minutes. Baste with the remainder of the glaze. Return to oven for another 15 to 25 minutes. Top with ketchup, if desired, and pop into oven for another couple of minutes.
  • Let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
  • Combine all glaze ingredients except ketchup in a small saucepan and heat to boiling. Take off heat and use as directed in the Ham Loaf instructions above.

1 onion, finely chopped

1 cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese, divided
1/2 cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce, divided
3 slices OSCAR MAYER Smoked Ham, cut in half

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375ºF.
  • Place first 5 ingredients in large bowl. Add half each of the cheese and barbecue sauce; mix well. Press half onto bottom of 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Cover with half the ham, remaining cheese and remaining ham; top with remaining ground beef mixture. Shape into loaf.

1 lb ground beef
1 cup graham cracker crumbs (finely ground)
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 10 3/4 oz. can condensed tomato soup
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 tsp dry mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°
  • Combine the meatball ingredients. In a large bowl lightly combine the 1 lb ground ham, 1 lb ground beef, 1 cup graham cracker crumbs, 3/4 cup milk, and 1 egg. Make large meatballs. Form the mixture into large meatballs, about 1/3 cup in size each. Place into a 9x13 baking dish. You will have about 12-15 meatballs.
  • Whisk together the sauce ingredients & pour over meatballs. In another bowl whisk together the can of condensed tomato soup, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup white vinegar, and 1 tsp dry mustard. Pour the sauce over the meatballs.
  • Bake 1 hour. Bake in the oven, uncovered, for 1 hour, basting the tops of the ham balls with the sauce once or twice during cooking.
  • Cool & eat! Let the meatballs cool for about 5-10 minutes and then serve with mashed or baked potatoes and veggies.

2 1/4 pounds ground ham ((precooked ham))
3/4 pound ground pork
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
1 medium onion ((chopped))
1 1/2 cups graham crackers ((crushed))
3/4 cup milk
1/2 tablespoon paprika
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
8 ounces crushed pineapple ((with juice))

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground ham, pork, eggs, mustard, ketchup, onion, graham crackers and milk. Mix well.
  • Spray a 9x13 baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Shape the ham mixture into a loaf, packing the meat firmly.
  • Sprinkle the top of the ham loaf with paprika.
  • Bake the ham loaf for 20 minutes. During this 20 minutes, make the pineapple glaze.
  • Combine the glaze ingredients together in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until the sauce comes to a boil, then boil for 1 minute.
  • Remove from the heat and set aside until the ham loaf is ready to glaze.
  • After the initial 20 minutes of baking, brush the top of the loaf with the pineapple glaze.
  • Bake again for 70 minutes, basting the ham loaf 2 or 3 more times during baking.
  • Serve warm with any leftover pineapple glaze drizzled on top.

⅔ cup seasoned bread crumbs

2 tablespoons cider vinegar

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter in heavy medium skillet over medium-low heat. Add onion and bell pepper. Cover and cook until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes. Cool mixture completely.
  • Mix ground pork, ham, crushed crackers, milk, eggs, pepper, salt and cooled onion mixture in large bowl; combine thoroughly. Transfer pork mixture to shallow baking pan. Shape into 9x4x2 1/2-inch loaf. Using long knife, make shallow crisscross (diamond) pattern in top of loaf. Bake loaf 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, blend orange marmalade, Dijon mustard and brown sugar in small bowl for glaze.
  • Drizzle 1/3 cup glaze over loaf; bake 15 minutes. Drizzle another 1/3 cup glaze over loaf; bake 15 minutes. This is another recipe from my Grandma. She would take this to family reunions and would never have any left. It soon become one of my favorite recipes for at home and for carry ins. When I would go signed up for carry-ins my name would already be down with ham loaf beside it. Guess people liked it.

1 lb ham loaf mix (i think it's just ground ham)
2 eggs
1 c bread crumbs
1 c milk
BASTE :
1/2 c vinegar (i use white)
1/3 c water
1 1/2 c brown sugar
1 Tbsp dry mustard

Steps:

  • 1. Mix the first 4 ingredients together like you would meat loaf. Put it into a loaf pan or I make 2 small loaves and freeze one.
  • 2. Mix up the basting ingredients and brush onto the ham loaf. Put in oven at 325 degrees for 2 hrs. I baste every half hour. The more basting the better it is.
