These bacon wrapped green bean bundles are the perfect elegant side dish for any meal!

1 1/4 lbs green beans (look for thinner green beans or use french green beans (haricot vert))
6 slices bacon (cut in half, do not use thick cut bacon)
1 teaspoon garlic salt (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt)
1/4 cup butter (melted)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place the bacon on a sheet pan and bake for 7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the oven.
  • Trim the ends of the green beans. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Place the green beans in the pot and cook for 2-3 minutes until just tender. Drain and put the green beans in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  • Pat the green beans dry. In a small bowl mix together the garlic salt, butter, brown sugar and pepper. Pour the butter mixture over the green beans and toss to coat.
  • Wrap 8-10 green beans with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place the green bean bundles on a sheet pan coated with cooking spray.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until bacon is crispy. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.

6 slices bacon
1 ½ pounds green beans (6-8 beans per bundle)
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
salt & pepper to taste
1 tablespoon brown sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Cook bacon on the stovetop until slightly cooked (not crispy), about 3-4 minutes. Reserve any drippings.
  • Trim and wash green beans. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add baking soda. Add green beans and cook 3 minutes until tender-crisp. Remove from boiling water and place in a bowl of ice water to stop cooking.
  • Dab beans dry and toss with reserved bacon drippings (about 2 teaspoons) or olive oil if you don't have drippings, garlic powder, and salt & pepper to taste.
  • Cut each slice of bacon in half and wrap around about 6-8 green beans, secure with a toothpick, and place on a parchment-lined pan.
  • Combine brown sugar with 1 tablespoon of water and lightly brush over each bundle.
  • Roast 20-22 minutes or until bacon is crisp and beans are lightly roasted.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup. Separate the bacon slices and lay flat on the baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes.

These are the best green bean bundles I have ever tasted. I make them every Thanksgiving and for parties, everone raves about them. It certainly isn't the healthiest, but is the tastiest! I got the recipe from a friend of a friend-so not sure where it orginated. They are time consuming to make, and you have to plan ahead but I promise you they are well worth it!

20 fresh green beans
2 maple-flavored bacon strips, halved
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons orange juice concentrate

Steps:

  • Place beans in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, for 3 minutes; drain. Place bacon on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high for 45-60 seconds or until edges curl. Wrap 5 green beans with a half bacon strip; secure with a wooden toothpick. Repeat. , Place bundles in a greased 1-qt. baking dish. In a small saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar and orange juice concentrate. Cook and stir over medium heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Pour over bundles. A great way to fix green beans, one of my favorite vegetables. These can be prepared using French-style green beans, frozen or canned, as a substitute. Just be sure to skip the blanching step of the recipe.

1/2 lb bacon, cut in half crosswise
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees; line a rimmed baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  • In large saucepan, combine beans and water to cover.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat, and simmer 3 minutes; drain; plunge beans into ice water to stop the cooking process and drain again.
  • Wrap about 5 beans in 1 slice bacon.
  • Place seam side down on prepared baking sheet.

1 1/2 lbs green beans, trimmed
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon brown sugar, packed
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
8 ounces bacon

Steps:

  • Fill a large saucepan with water and bring it to a boil over high heat.
  • Wash and trim the beans.
  • Add the beans to the boiling water and blanch for 3 to 4 minutes, until the beans are pliable but still crunchy.
  • Drain the beans and run them under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels or a clean dish towel and place them in a shallow ovenproof casserole.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in the dry mustard, brown sugar, garlic and salt.
  • Pour the butter mixture over the green beans, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

1 (12 ounce) package thin-sliced smoked maple bacon, cut in 1/2
½ cup butter, melted

Steps:
