CHILI DOGS

Steps:

• Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add 1 chopped onion and 2 chopped garlic cloves and cook, stirring, until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add 1 pound ground beef, breaking it up with the back of a spoon, and cook until nicely browned, about 10 minutes.
• Stir in 2 1/2 cups ketchup, 1 teaspoon chili powder and 2 tablespoons yellow mustard and simmer until thickened, about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
• Grill 4 hot dogs over medium-high heat, turning, until marked. Serve on grilled buns and top with the chili and shredded cheddar.

GRAMMY'S HOT DOG CHILI

Steps:

• Brown Hamburger and onions in a stock pot.
• Add all other ingredients.
• Simmer on low heat at least 3 hours.

CHILI HOT DOG

Steps:

• In a skillet over medium heat, grill the hot dogs and toast the buns until golden. Dress the hot dogs with the Chili, Slaw, ketchup, mustard and chopped onions.
• In a large stockpot set over medium heat, add the beef, tomato juice, dehydrated onions, chili powder and mustard. Simmer for 3 hours.
• Place the cabbage in food processor and pulse to coarsely chop. Mix in the dressing and chill until ready for use.

THE BEST HOT DOG CHILI RECIPE

Steps:

• In a large saucepan, brown the garlic and onion. Cook until fragrant and light brown.
• Add the ground beef and cook until there's no more pink in the meat.
• Once the meat is just cooked, add in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, cumin, garlic salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
• Let the chili simmer on medium-low and reduce for 15 minutes.
• Serve the chili on top of hot dogs and garnish with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped red onions.

SWEET CHILLI DOGS

Steps:

• Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Spread the sausages in a roasting tin and cook for 20-25 mins, turning, until golden and cooked through.
• Meanwhile, fry the onions in a splash of oil over a high heat until almost softened and browning. Stir in the sweet chilli sauce and tomato purée with some seasoning, and cook for 1 min more.
• Split the hot dog buns, add a spoonful of the sweet chilli onions, top with a sausage, then a spoonful more onions.

CINCINNATI CHILI HOT DOG SAUCE

Steps:

• Brown and drain the beef.
• Place spices in a tea bag or tea ball.
• Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 3 hours or cook in a pressure cooker 1 hour.
• Serve over hot dogs with onions and cheddar cheese.
