Provided by Lisa Bryan

Categories     Appetizer

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup soy sauce (see notes below)
4 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tablespoon ginger (finely diced)
1/4 cup water
2 pounds chicken wings (tips removed, and drumettes separated (24-26 chicken wings))
1 tablespoon avocado oil
salt and pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Use a paper towel to remove any moisture from the chicken wings.
  • Toss the wings with the oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Place a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet then place a wire rack on top. Spread out the wings on a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until crispy.
  • While the wings are cooking, make the sauce. Add the honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and water to a small pot. Bring it to a boil and reduce the heat to low letting it simmer for 10 minutes - or until slightly reduced and thickened.
  • Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
  • Remove wings from the oven. Toss the wings in the sauce and place them back in the oven on the baking sheet and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

1-2 Tbsp. Avocado oil
1/2 cup water
3 Tbsp. gluten free tamari (or soy sauce or coconut aminos)

1 Tbsp. cornstarch or arrowroot

  • Remove cooked chicken to a clean plate and repeat with remaining chicken until add chicken is cooked, adding more oil to the pan as needed.
  • In a bowl or liquid measuring cup, combine water, tamari, syrup or honey, vinegar, toasted sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk to combine.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1 Tbsp cornstarch with 1 Tbsp water to make a cornstarch slurry.
  • When the chicken is fully cooked, reduce the heat in the pan to medium-low.
  • Add cornstarch slurry to the sesame sauce mixture and whisk to combine (it'll now look a bit milky).

EASY LEMON CHICKEN -GLUTEN FREE

Easy Lemon Chicken -Gluten Free image

This dish is very easy to prepare. It has pan cooked chicken breast with a lemon sauce drizzled over the top. Ensure your flours, soy sauce and liquid stock used are all gluten free. I use Massell brand stock and Fountain brand soy sauce as they are currently GF. You can substitute the soy sauce for a gluten free Tamari sauce. Nobody would guess this is a GF dish. Make double quantity of the sauce if you like a lot of sauce to serve

4 single chicken breast fillets

SESAME OIL CHICKEN

Sesame Oil Chicken image

Sesame Oil Chicken is an easy and healthy recipe. If you grew up in Asia, this would remind you of home and childhood. In this recipe, the power of the 3 sauces - oyster sauce, dark soy sauce and light soy sauce gets released to its full potential when combined with the sharp and earthy flavors of ginger. The Chinese cooking wine then completes the dish, and the taste becomes fuller to almost savory perfection. Season with sesame seeds and serve with warm rice for lunch or dinner.

Yield Serves 4

Number Of Ingredients 1

600g chicken, cut into 10 - 12 pieces 1 tsp sesame seed, for garnish For the marinade: 1 tbsp light soy sauce ½ tbsp sesame oil 50 ml Chinese cooking wine For Sesame Oil Chicken: 4 tbsp sesame oil, for frying 80g ginger, julienned 2 tbsp light soy sauce 2 tsp dark soy sauce 2 tsp oyster sauce 60 ml chinese cooking wine ¼ tsp ground white pepper 1 stalk spring onion, sliced to 2cm lengths

Steps:

  • Marinate The Chicken. Place the chicken in a bowl. Add light soy sauce, sesame oil, Chinese cooking oil and white pepper into the boil. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  • Start Cooking. Heat wok and pour in 4 tablespoons of sesame oil, add ginger and fry until fragrant. Add marinated chicken and stir fry for 3-4 minutes. Add light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and oyster sauce, stir well and let it cook for 15 minutes or until sauce thickens. SESAME GINGER CHICKEN MEATBALLS. AN AMAZING WEEKNIGHT STAPLE

Sesame Ginger Chicken Meatballs. An amazing weeknight staple image

Provided by rick2428

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 18

2 lbs ground chicken
2 inches ginger, finely minced
½ cup diced green onion
4 cloves garlic
½ cup chopped cilantro
1/2 cup diced red onion
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp hoisin
Juice of 1 lime
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp corn starch
2 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
fresh basil leaves
toasted sesame seeds
Charred Broccoli
Stick rice

Steps:

  • Let's get cracking with the meatballs. In a large bowl add in all ingredients and mix with your hands. Make sure everything is properly incorporated. Then form into 2 tbsp balls and place on sheet pan.
  • Preheat oven to 400. Place a large, lightly oiled frypan over medium high heat. Once hot, place meatballs in pan, moderately spaced out. Sear on each side, then place back on sheet pan. Once all meatballs are seared, place in oven for 10-12 mins.
  • We are on a roll here. Next up, let's get going on the sauce. In the same pan you seared the meatballs in, add the white and green onions. You don't want them to brown, so make sure the pan isn't too hot. You want to sweat them down until the white onions are translucent. While onions are sautéing, place the rest of the sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix together. Once onions looks soft, add in the sauce and increase the heat to high. Let it bubble away for 2 minutes.
  • Remove meatballs from oven and place in pan with sauce. Coat the meatballs and sprinkle with sesame seeds. I like to serve this with rice and some charred broccolini or bok choy!

  • The night before you plan to cook, combine all ingredients except chicken, sesame seeds, and scallions in two zip-top bags (or one large baking dish). Close the bags and shake all ingredients until the sugar and salt are both fully dissolved. Divide the chicken between the two bags and seal, trying to push out as much air as possible. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours or up to 24, turning the bags once or twice to make sure the marinade comes into contact with all the meat.
  • Remove chicken from the marinade, letting any excess drip back into the bag. Divide the chicken between the two baking sheets and transfer to the oven. Roast for 35 minutes.
  • Transfer the marinade to a small pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Let the marinade boil for at least 3 minutes to kill of any harmful bacteria and continue to cook until it has reduced by a third (it should be a little thicker than heavy cream at this point). Remove from heat.
