1 lb. (0.4 kg) shelled and deveined shrimp
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 dashes cayenne pepper
chopped parsley

Steps:

  • Rinse the shrimp with cold water. Drained and set aside.
  • Heat up a skillet (cast-iron preferred), add the olive oil and butter. Add the garlic and saute until they turn slightly brown, stir in the shrimp. Stir and cook the shrimp a few times before adding the honey, lime juice, salt and cayenne pepper. Cook the shrimp until the honey lime sauce thickens. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Garlic flavored shrimp with a sweet yet tangy lemon lime glaze.

1 lb raw large shrimp (cleaned and deveined)
skewers
1/2 cup olive oil
2 large garlic cloves (crushed)
1/4 cup honey
1 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tbsp melted butter

Steps:

  • Place oil and garlic in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave on high for 15 seconds. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
  • Place shrimp in a plastic zipper bag. Add the cooled oil (and the garlic). Seal bag and mush it up to distribute the oil. Refrigerate overnight.
  • Mix all glaze ingredients in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Place shrimp on skewers. The amount of shrimp to each skewer is up to you. I generally do 4 or 5 per skewer.
  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400 degrees F if you have a grill thermometer)
  • Grill shrimp about 3 minutes each side.
  • Brush with glaze and grill an additional 2-3 minutes each side. Be careful shrimp do not burn.
  • Brush again with glaze before serving.

3/4 lbs large/jumbo raw shrimp
salt (to taste)
2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
3 tbsp honey
1 tbsp minced garlic
vegetable oil
1 tsp chopped parsley (or cilantro)

Steps:

  • Completely defrost shrimp and pat dry.
  • In a large skillet, add vegetable oil and heat skillet under medium high heat.
  • Once skillet is heated up, add shrimp to skillet. Do not overlap. Lightly sprinkle salt onto shrimp. Sear shrimp for ~2 minutes, then flip over. Lightly sprinkle salt again, and sear for another ~2 minutes, or until shrimp is done.
  • Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  • Add freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey, and minced garlic onto skillet. Lightly scrap the bottom of the skillet to incorporate the juices from searing the shrimp into the sauce.
  • Bring to boil, then bring to medium low heat. Continue cooking sauce for a minute or so, or until the desired thickness.
  • Bring cooked shrimp back into skillet. Stir to coat shrimp with sauce. Remove from heat promptly.
  • Serve and enjoy!

1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons sriracha
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
3 cloves garlic, grated
1 lime, zested and juiced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
20 shrimp (16-20 count), peeled and deveined
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
12 ounces baby spinach
2 cloves garlic, grated
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and a large skillet over medium heat.
  • For the shrimp: In a small bowl, mix together the honey, sriracha, crushed red pepper, garlic, lime zest and juice and 1 tablespoon of the parsley. Set the glaze aside.
  • Thread the shrimp onto 4 metal skewers, 5 shrimp per skewer. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Place on the grill pan and cook for 2 minutes. Flip the shrimp, brush the top with the glaze and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Flip the glazed side down, brush the top with the glaze and cook for an additional minute. Flip, glaze and cook until the shrimp are cooked through, up to an additional minute per side. Remove from the grill and drizzle with any remaining glaze.
  • For the spinach: Meanwhile, heat the oil in the skillet and add the spinach and garlic. Season with salt and pepper and cook until wilted, about 1 minute.
  • Make a bed with the spinach on a serving platter. Top with the shrimp skewers and garnish with the remaining parsley.

It's the perfect balance of sweet and savory while still packing a substantial garlic punch, plus it's extremely fast and simple to make. This recipe uses half the honey that typical recipes use and allows the natural sweetness of the shrimp to shine through. Serve over hot cooked rice or the starchy base of your choice such as noodles.

1 pound large raw shrimp (16-20 count), peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
2 tablespoons honey
½ teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1 tablespoon soy sauce, or more to taste
1 teaspoon Asian fish sauce, or to taste
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 cup thinly sliced green onion, or to taste

Steps:

  • Make sure shrimp are fully thawed and well drained. Keep in the refrigerator while you make the marinade.
  • Whisk garlic, honey, ginger, soy sauce, and fish sauce together in a bowl.
  • Add shrimp and toss thoroughly with a spatula for 2 minutes until completely coated. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 to 60 minutes; toss occasionally while marinating.
  • Brush a large nonstick skillet with oil and heat over high heat until you begin to see small wisps of smoke. Use tongs to immediately transfer shrimp into the hot skillet in a single layer. Set excess marinade aside.
  • Sear shrimp for 2 minutes, then flip over. Dump in marinade and cook for 1 minute. Turn off heat and flip shrimp once more; let sit for about 1 minute. The marinade in the pan will reduce down to a beautiful glaze just from the residual heat in the pan. Garnish with green onion.

Steps:

  • In a large ziploc bag, combine all the marinade ingredients. When everything is well-combined, add the shrimp, squeeze as much air as possible out of the bag, and close it up. Place it in the fridge.
  • Let the shrimp marinate for 30-60 minutes, flipping the bag around once or twice during that time, so that all the shrimp stay evenly covered in the marinade.
  • When you're ready to cook, take the shrimp out of the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat; there is no need to add any oil or butter to the pan, as the marinade has enough oil in it to keep the shrimp from sticking to the pan. (If you would prefer to use the grill for these, you can thread them onto skewers and toss them on the grill at this point.).
  • Add your shrimp to the pan in a single layer, making sure they are not too crowded; you can always cook them in more than one batch.
  • Let them cook on one side for about a minute, until they curl up and start to turn pink.
  • Flip them over, and cook for another 30 seconds or so, until the shrimp are opaque.
  • Remove from the pan, and serve immediately!

1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • Make sure shrimps are completely thawed and drained.
