2 gammon steaks
2 slices pineapple

Steps:

  • Heat oil in frypan.
  • Add steaks and pineapple.
  • Fry for two minutes each side, or until golden.
  • Fry eggs.
  • Serve with pineapple on top of gammon with egg on side with a plate of hot chips and mayonnaise.

1 can (8 ounces) sliced pineapple
2 boneless fully cooked ham steaks (about 2 pounds)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
4 maraschino cherries

Steps:

  • Drain pineapple, reserving 1 tablespoon juice; set pineapple aside (discard remaining juice or save for another use). Cut each ham steak in half; place in an ungreased baking pan. , Combine brown sugar, mustard and reserved juice; spread over ham. Top with pineapple and cherries. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until heated through.

1 cup dark brown sugar
⅔ cup prepared yellow mustard
1 ½ pounds ham steaks
1 (20 ounce) can pineapple rings in juice, sliced

Steps:

  • Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler.
  • Mix dark brown sugar and mustard together in a bowl. Place ham on a broiling pan rack. Spoon mustard mixture over both sides of the ham.
  • Broil in the preheated oven until browned on one side, about 5 minutes. Flip, pour on pineapple juice from the can, and continue to broil for about 5 minutes more, adding pineapple rings on top in the final 2 minutes of cooking. Watch carefully as it cooks fast.

A cooked version of that old party favourite cheese and pineapple on sticks. Even my wife can cook this, it's that easy. Served with sautéed potatoes or chips and broccoli.

1 gammon steak, per person
1 (14 ounce) can pineapple slices (rings)
cheese slice
1 ounce butter
3 tablespoons oil
1 glass sherry wine
2 tablespoons flour
tomato ketchup
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Season the gammon steaks with the salt and pepper.
  • Drain the pineapple, save the juice.
  • Heat the butter and oil in a skillet and fry the steaks on both sides till just done, set aside to keep warm.
  • Fry the pineapple slices till golden, set aside.
  • Stir the flour into the pan and add the juice and sherry, bring to the boil, reduce heat simmer till sauce thicken.
  • Place a slice of cheese on each steak then a slice of the pineapple, fill the centre of the pineapple slice with ketchup.
  • Serve with the sauce on the side.

1 ring pineapple

Steps:

  • Heat the grill. Snip the gammon rind at intervals. Brush or wipe both sides of the gammon with a smear of oil. Place the gammon the grid of the grill pan and cook each side under the hot grill for 3-5 minutes, until brown. Put the pineapple slices on top of the gammon and heat for a few minutes, or fry the egg in a frying pan, in a little hot fat. Serve the gammon with the pineapple slices or with the egg on top.
