BIRD'S EASY SWEET CORN

Steps:

• Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add remaining ingredients.
• Simmer uncovered and stir occasionally for about 10 minutes (if using frozen corn, heat covered for 10 minutes, then uncovered an additional 10 minutes).

SWEET POTATO BIRD BALLS

Steps:

• Pierce the skin of the sweet potato several times with a paring knife or skewer. Place into the microwave, and cook on High power until the potato is tender, 5 to 9 minutes, turning the potato over halfway through cooking. When done, allow to cool until cool enough to handle.
• Peel the potato and place into a large mixing bowl. Add the vegetables, banana, raisins, apples, and oatmeal. Mix using an electric mixer on high speed until the vegetables have been reduced to tiny pieces and the mixture is thoroughly combined. If the mixture is too dry, add a little water until soft enough to roll into balls.
• Line a baking sheet with parchment or waxed paper. Roll the mixture into marble-sized balls and place onto baking sheet. Feed Polly a couple now, then place the baking sheet into the freezer, and freeze solid. Once frozen, remove treats from parchment paper and store in a resealable plastic bag. Defrost treats before serving.

SWEET CORN EMULSION

Steps:

• Remove corn from cobbs.
• Place corn and onion into a heavy bottom pot and with oil and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes.
• Add the garlic and cook for 5 more minutes.
• Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook 10 more minutes.
• Add the chicken base and stir until dissolved.
• Strain through a chinois or cheesecloth.
• Add saffron, salt, pepper and cayenne.

BIRD SEED ENERGY BARS

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x14 inch ovenproof baking dish.
• Mix the rolled oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, cinnamon, and flour together in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, honey, canola oil, vanilla, and salt until evenly blended., and stir into the oat mixture. Stir in the flax seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, and chocolate chips. Use your hands to mix the ingredients, and press the mixture into the prepared pan.
• Bake in preheated oven until the edges are golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into 2 inch bars.
