I found this recipe in a Woman's World magazine. It only contains a few ingredients which is always a plus. I haven't tried it yet but it seems like it'll be a tasty and quick meal.

Steps:

  • Crunch French Fried Onions with flour in a plastic bag.
  • Dip chicken into the egg and then coat in onion crumbs.
  • Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes until chicken is no longer pink.

2 whole free-range, organic chickens
Vegetable oil of choice, for frying the chicken
6 cups all-purpose flour
5 tablespoons salt
4 tablespoons ground black pepper
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
2 cups buttermilk

Steps:

  • Cut the whole chickens into 4 breasts, 4 thighs, 4 legs and 4 wings and set aside.
  • Preheat your oil, in either a heavy pan on the stove or a deep-fryer, to 325 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper until thoroughly mixed. Set aside.
  • Pour the buttermilk into another bowl large enough for the chicken to be immersed in the buttermilk.
  • Prepare your dredging station. Place your chicken in a bowl. Next to that, your bowl of buttermilk, and next to that, your dry mixture.
  • Take your breasts, lightly dust them with your flour mixture, then dip them in the buttermilk until they are coated, and then place them in the flour mixture.
  • Take the breasts that are in the flour mixture and aggressively push the flour mixture into the wet chicken. Make sure that the chicken in very thoroughly coated, or you will not achieve the crust and crunch you are looking for. Gently place the breasts in your hot oil.
  • Next, repeat the dredging steps with your other pieces of chicken in this order: thigh, leg then wing.
  • When you place the last wing into the fryer, you should have 16 pieces of chicken in the oil. Set a timer for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, take a probe thermometer and check the temperature of a breast. If it reads 180 degrees F, all of your chicken is done. (Keep in mind that it will continue to cook after it has been removed from the fryer.)
  • Remove the chicken from the oil and let it drain for 5 minutes. Let cool for an additional 10 minutes before serving.

  • spray the bottom of a 9 by 13 inch pan.
  • whisk together milk and eggs in a bowl big enough to dip chicken into.

  • mix in the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese pour over chicken.
  • Drizzle melted butter or margarine over chicken.
  • bake at 350 degrees until chicken is done about 45 minutes.

1 tablespoon light mayonnaise
1 cup French fried onions ((also called crispy onions))
4 4 ounce each pieces of boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard, honey, and mayonnaise.
  • Put the French fried onions in a zip-close bag. Using a flat tenderizer or a large metal spoon, crush the French fried onions into little crumbs. Place the crushed crumbs in a shallow dish.
  • Using a basting brush or knife, coat the chicken pieces with the honey mustard sauce.
  • Coat the chicken with the crushed french fried onions.
  • Place chicken on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste.

8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter
3 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
6 ounces wide egg noodles
1/2 cup sour cream
One 8-ounce package cream cheese, at room temperature, cut into chunks
1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
2 cups shredded skinless rotisserie chicken
1 cup crispy fried onions, such as French's
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are very soft and just begin to brown, about 20 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon thyme and cook for an additional minute. Set aside.
  • Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the noodles according to the package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Drain the noodles and return them to the pot.
  • While the noodles are still warm, add the cooked onions, sour cream, cream cheese, reserved pasta water and 1/2 cup Gruyere. Stir until the sauce is smooth and creamy and coats the noodles. Fold in the chicken. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a 2-quart baking dish.
  • Microwave the remaining 5 tablespoons butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl until melted. Add the fried onions, breadcrumbs, remaining 1/2 cup Gruyere and 1 tablespoon thyme to the butter and toss until the breadcrumbs are coated. Sprinkle the buttered breadcrumb mixture evenly over the noodles to cover completely.
  • Bake until the topping is golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes.

2 cups diced yellow onions
3 cups water
1 oz Lipton onion soup mix
10 oz uncooked egg noodles
10.5 oz condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
2 cups French's crispy fried onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375F.
  • Dump the butter into a large pot over medium heat.
  • Once the butter is completely melted, add the diced onions to the pot.
  • Stir the onions and butter together.
  • Leave the onions to cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown. About 12 minutes.
  • Add the water and onion soup mix to the pot and whisk well.
  • Add the egg noodles to the pot and push them around so that they are as submerged in the liquid is possible.
  • Place a lid on the pot and leave the noodles to cook, stirring occasionally, for 7 minutes.
  • After 7 minutes remove the lid and stir well.
  • Add the cream of chicken soup, salt and pepper to the pot.
  • Stir until all of the noodles are coated in the chicken soup.
  • Add the shredded chicken to the pot and stir well again.
  • Dump the chicken and noodle mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Dump the shredded mozzarella and shredded parmesan into a mixing bowl.
  • Add the crispy fried onions to the mixing bowl.
  • Stir the shredded cheese and fried onions together.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese and fried onion mixture on top of the noodle mixture in the baking dish.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place it in the oven.
  • Bake the casserole covered for 20 minutes.
  • After 20 minutes remove the foil and continue baking uncovered for 5 minutes just to crisp up the onions.
  • Remove the dish from the oven and sliced and serve the casserole immediately,
  • Enjoy!

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
5 ounces melba toast
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 lb potato, cut into 1/4in strips and soaked in cold water and ice for 30 minutes

  • Set the oven to 400°F In a small bowl whisk the egg, egg white and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  • Place the Melba toast, thyme, rosemary, oregano, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper and blitz to create textured breadcrumbs (leave some pieces about the size of currants).
  • Dip a chicken breast in the egg mixture, coating it thoroughly and then dredge in the breadcrumbs, patting and turning frequently until well coated.
  • Place the chicken on a baking sheet and bake for three minutes, and then lightly spray the top of each chicken breast with oil.

  • Put potatoes and salt in a plastic bag or lidded box and spray with oil for about three seconds. Shake, to coat the potatoes well with oil and salt.
  • Lay the potatoes on a baking tray, ensuring they do not touch each other, and spray lightly with the oil. Bake for about seven minutes, turn, bake for a further seven minutes and turn again and bake for another five minutes until golden and cooked. Serve immediately.

1 cup kosher salt
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/3 cup honey
12 bay leaves
1 head garlic, smashed but not peeled

3 large rosemary sprigs

fresh parsley, 1 small bunch
2 lemons, use finely grated zest and juice of both
2 whole chickens, 3 pounds each
3 cups all-purpose flour

vegetable oil, for frying
rosemary and fresh thyme sprig, for garnish

Steps:

  • In a very large pot, combine 1 quart of the water with 1 cup of the salt and the honey, bay leaves, garlic, peppercorns, rosemary, thyme and parsley. Add the lemon zest and juice and the lemon halves and bring to a simmer over moderate heat, stirring until the salt is dissolved. Let cool completely, then stir in the remaining 3 quarts of cold water. Add the chickens, being sure they're completely submerged, and refrigerate overnight.
  • Drain the chickens and pat dry. Scrape off any herbs or peppercorns stuck to the skin and cut each bird into 8 pieces, keeping the breast meat on the bone.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne and the remaining 2 teaspoons of salt. Put the buttermilk in a large, shallow bowl. Working with a few pieces at a time, dip the chicken in the buttermilk, then dredge in the flour mixture, pressing so it adheres all over. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
  • In a very large, deep skillet, heat 1 inch of vegetable oil to 330°. Fry the chicken in 2 or 3 batches over moderate heat, turning once, until golden and crunchy and an instant-read thermometer inserted in the thickest part of each piece registers 160°, about 20 minutes. Transfer the chicken to paper towels to drain, and keep warm in a low oven while you fry the remaining chicken pieces.

  • Take your pounded chicken breast and season it with salt from both sides.

2 1/2 pounds russet potatoes
Vegetable or peanut oil, for frying
Sea salt, for sprinkling
Ketchup and mayonnaise, mixed, for serving

Steps:

  • Peel and rinse the potatoes. Cut each potato lengthwise into 4 or 5 pieces, then cut each piece into sticks. The thinner these are, the crispier they will be. Place the fries in a large bowl. Cover with cold water, then allow them to soak 2 or 3 hours (or you can stick them in the fridge and let them soak overnight).
  • When you're ready to make the fries, drain the water and lay the potatoes on 2 baking sheets lined with paper towels. Blot with paper towels to dry.
  • Heat a few inches of vegetable oil to 300 degrees F in a heavy pot. In 3 or 4 batches, fry the potatoes about 4 to 5 minutes per batch, or until soft. They should not be brown at all at this point-you just want to start the cooking process. Remove each batch and drain them on new, dry paper towels.
  • Once all the potatoes have been fried at 300 degrees F, turn up the heat until the oil temperature reaches 400 degrees F. When the oil is hot, start frying the potatoes in batches again, cooking until golden and crisp. Remove from the oil and drain on fresh paper towels. Sprinkle the fries with sea salt and dive in with the ketchup-mayo mixture.

AIR FRYER FRIED CHICKEN

Making fried chicken in an air fryer is a revelation. You can achieve a crispy crust and juicy interior without all the steps of deep-frying. A soak in seasoned buttermilk adds extra flavor-as little as 1 hour will make a difference, but overnight is even better. Because of the capacity of a standard air fryer, we cook the chicken in batches. You can rewarm the first batch in a 250-degree oven for 10 minutes if you'd like to serve it all hot at once.

  • Combine the buttermilk, garlic, 1 tablespoon salt and 2 teaspoons pepper in a large resealable plastic bag or container. Add the chicken pieces, seal and refrigerate at least 1 hour and up to overnight, turning the bag once or twice.
  • When you are ready to cook the chicken, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, 1 tablespoon salt and 1 teaspoon pepper in a shallow bowl or dish.   • Remove the chicken from the marinade. Spray the basket of a 3.5-quart air fryer with olive oil cooking spray and preheat to 360 degrees F.
  • Dredge 3 thighs and 3 drumsticks in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess. Place the pieces in the preheated air-fryer basket, skin-side up without touching. Spray the chicken generously with the cooking spray and air fry until the chicken is cooked through and the crust is crisp and deep golden, about 27 minutes. Check on the chicken halfway through to spray any spots that still look floury with more cooking spray and flip the drumsticks only.
  • When the chicken is done, remove it from the air fryer and season lightly with salt. Repeat the dredging and air-frying process with the remaining chicken. if you like, rewarm the first batch in an oven at 250 degrees F for 10 minutes before serving.

  • In a very large bowl, whisk the buttermilk with the hot sauce and sugar. Add the chicken pieces and toss well. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • In a large saucepan, heat 2 inches of grapeseed oil to 375° with the rosemary, thyme and sage sprigs, the 5 whole bay leaves and the head of garlic. When the herbs are crispy and the garlic is golden, transfer to a paper towel–lined plate.
  • Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk the all-purpose and rice flours with the garlic and onion powders. Whisk in the remaining 3 tablespoons of kosher salt and the remaining 2 tablespoons of pepper.
