1/2 cup white vanilla baking chips
1/2 cup Cheerios™ cereal
2 tablespoons candy sprinkles
6 cups Corn Chex™ or Rice Chex™ cereal
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
2 cups miniature marshmallows

Steps:

In small microwavable bowl, melt white vanilla baking chips uncovered on High 30 to 45 seconds or until they can be stirred smooth. Stir in Cheerios cereal. Spread on waxed paper in single layer; top with sprinkles. Let stand until set, about 30 minutes. Break into pieces; reserve.
Meanwhile, place Chex cereal in large microwavable bowl.
In 2-cup glass measuring cup, melt butter uncovered on High about 30 seconds. Add brown sugar and maple syrup; microwave uncovered on High about 30 seconds or until mixture is boiling. Pour over Chex cereal in bowl, stirring until evenly coated.
Microwave Chex cereal mixture uncovered on High 3 to 4 minutes, stirring every minute, until mixture just begins to brown. Spread on waxed paper or foil. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Break into bite-size pieces. Stir in miniature marshmallows and reserved Cheerios cereal pieces. Store in airtight container.

Inspired by the classic Christmas movie, the World's Best Cup of Coffee cocktail should be your signature drink at your Elf holiday party.

Ingredients

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cinnamon stick
2 teaspoons cardamom pods
1 teaspoon allspice berries
1 12-ounce bottle or can of coffee stout
1/3 cup maple whiskey
1/4 cup amaro with roasted caramel notes, such as Caffe Amaro or Meletti
1/4 cup spiced simple syrup

Steps:

Stir the sugar and water together in a small saucepan over medium heat until the liquid comes to a simmer.
Add the cinnamon, cardamom, and allspice.
Remove, cover, and steep for 30-45 minutes.
Refrigerate in a sealed jar until ready to serve.
Stir all ingredients together in a pitcher (or diner coffee pot for that real Elf effect).
Serve over ice.

I received this snack mix in a tin for Christmas last year. Boy! was it good. The ingredients can easily be substituted to suit your tastes. I have also made it using M&Ms or frosted mini wheats cereal instead of the marshmallows.

Ingredients

1 (10 ounce) bag Nestle Toll House holiday shapes and morsels
9 cups Crispix cereal
2 cups honey roasted peanuts
2 cups goldfish shaped pretzels
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 (20 ounce) package vanilla candy coating (almond bark)

Steps:

Place the chocolate morsels in freezer to chill.
Mix cereal, peanuts, pretzels& marshmallows in large bowl; set aside.
Microwave candy coating in large microwavable bowl uncovered on High 90 seconds; stir to break up large chunks and then microwave about 30 seconds longer or until coating can be stirred smooth.
Quickly fold cereal mixture into coating with rubber spatula, stirring gently until evenly coated.
Stir in chilled chocolate morsels.
Spread on waxed paper and cool completely and break into chunks.
Store in air-tight container in a cool place.

Elf Brings Treats for Sick Kids. Most unfortunately a stomach virus hit the Pace household last December and Jolly was very sympathetic. He pulled out our favorite Zoku Quick Pop maker and the extra set of drip guards, but alas.
Marshmallow Bath, Take 2. Since I had done the sink marshmallow bath in the past, I wanted to give it a little different twist last year. I still had the fish bowl hanging around from the attempt at at Elf snow globe, and thought it could do double duty!
Wrapping Cereal Bars. My daughter had a slight obsession with Sunbelt Bakery strawberry cereal bars last year. Jolly thought it would be so festive to individually wrap her cereal bars in Christmas wrapping paper.
