EASY BROWN SUGAR AND HONEY GLAZED HAM RECIPE [+ AIR FRYER HAM]

Easy Brown Sugar and Honey Glazed Ham Recipe [+ Air Fryer Ham] image

This ham glaze recipe is perfect for any ham, any time! Gently spiced with cinnamon and cloves and sweetened with brown sugar and honey. Definitely my favorite ham glaze! It will be a big hit for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!

Provided by Melanie

Categories     Main Dish     Sauces, Spreads, and Dressings

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 9

Ham (at room temperature)
water (enough to cover bottom of pan but no more than 1/4-inch deep)
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
4 cloves garlic (minced)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Line baking dish or roasting pan with foil.
  • Use a knife to score a 1-inch diamond pattern over the whole ham, allowing more surface area for the glaze. Place ham in baking dish with some water to cover bottom of pan, no more than 1/4-inch of water.
  • Cover ham with foil and plan to bake until ham reaches 140 degrees F with thermometer inserted into thickest part, about 15-20 minutes per pound, depending on the type and size of ham. (See Timetable for Cooking Ham for detailed cooking time estimates.) Glazing will happen during the last 30 minutes or so of baking time.
  • As the last 30 minutes of baking time approaches, brown the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, until it begins to turn golden brown and aromatic. Swirl it around in the pan occasionally to help it brown evenly. Stir in the brown sugar, honey, mustard, cinnamon, and cloves. Stir until sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes. Reduce heat to low and add the garlic. Cook for a minute or two until it becomes fragrant and just begins to simmer. Right as it begins to simmer, remove from heat and set aside. As it cools, it will become the consistency of a thick honey.
  • Remove ham from oven about 30 minutes before done and increase oven temperature to 425 degrees F. Brush or spoon 1/3 of the glaze over the ham. Bake uncovered for 10 minutes. Brush or spoon another 1/3 of the glaze and some pan juices, then bake another 10 minutes. Repeat with pan juices, remaining glaze, and bake.
  • Ham is done when internal temperature reaches 140 degrees F. Broil for 2-5 minutes if you want more of a glaze crust, but don't let it burn. Let ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
  • Follow all directions from above, but cook covered ham at 350˚ for 20 minutes in air fryer. Then remove foil and add glaze and cook for 10 more minutes. Slice and add more glaze, cook for 2-5 more minutes, if desired, and enjoy!

BROWN SUGAR GLAZED HAM

Brown Sugar Glazed Ham image

This beautiful brown sugar glazed ham is very easy to make! I use a fully-cooked smoked ham and brush it with a homemade brown sugar glazed until nicely caramelized. It's the perfect main dish for the holidays.

Provided by Tania

Categories     Main Course

Time 2h10m

Number Of Ingredients 12

8 to 10 pound fully-cooked, bone-in ham (make sure it's a fully cooked ham)
Water for the pan
¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
½ cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
A pinch of salt
1 small spring fresh rosemary (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Remove the ham from its packaging. Let it rest for 1 hour at room temperature.
  • Add enough water to cover about ½ to ¾ inch of a large pan with a roasting rack. Place the roasting rack on top and place the ham on top of the roasting rack, flat side down. Seal the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil, and bake for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or 10-12 minutes per pound.
  • Make the glaze (do this 20 minutes before ready to glaze): in a saucepan over medium heat, combine all the brown sugar glaze ingredients, and stir to combine as it melts. Adjust the flavors as needed (for example, add more vinegar for more acidity, or more spices for more flavor). Reduce to a simmer, and simmer for 6-8 minutes until it's a bit thickened, stirring often. Set aside.
  • Remove the ham from the oven and carefully remove the foil. Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees F.
  • Brush the ham with glaze, and then return to the oven and bake for 7-8 minutes, uncovered. Repeat this step 2 more times until caramelized.
  • Remove from the oven and let sit for 20 minutes before serving. Slice and serve. You can use the remaining brown sugar glaze for serving. Enjoy!

Yield 60 cookies

Number Of Ingredients 2

1/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar

Steps:

  • Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan with a whisk.
  • Bring to a boil and boil until the sugar dissolves and the syrup turns clear.

EASY BROWN SUGAR GLAZE FOR CAKES

Easy Brown Sugar Glaze for Cakes image

Glazes are one of my favorite parts about baking and I love learning new techniques, like this easy brown sugar glaze for cakes that I use on top of my spice cake. I think this glaze brings a balance in flavor and really brings out the spiciness. You can also use it on top of cinnamon rolls, for example, I think it would complement them very nicely. It is also really easy to make!

Provided by cakedecorist.com

Categories     Dessert

Number Of Ingredients 5

6 Tbs of unsalted butter
2 Tps of heavy cream
1/2 cup of packed light-brown sugar
1 tsp of pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp of salt

Steps:

  • Place butter and sugar in a medium saucepan and put it over low heat.
  • Stir until sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Add cream, vanilla, and salt. Now you need to bring it to a boil.
  • Remove it from the flame and set aside to cool. This will thicken it up and it will turn into a syrup.
  • Use it immediately. If you plan to store it, place it in a sealed container in the fridge once it is cool and use in less than 2 days. If it has turned too thick and is unpourable, you will need to heat it up again to be able to use it. Heat it up in the microwave in 30-second intervals mixing every time to avoid burning.

EASY BROWN SUGAR GLAZED PORK CHOPS RECIPE

Easy Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Chops Recipe image

Here's a wonderfully easy recipe for pork chops with an amazing brown sugar glaze. The absolutely best way to eat pork chops and definitely a family favorite!

Provided by Carrie Ypma

Categories     Main Course

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 pieces center-cut boneless pork chops
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1 tablespoon brown sugar

Steps:

  • Place grill pan on stovetop and turn heat to medium. Make sure you have the exhaust fan on as it can get smokey.
  • Lightly brush both sides of pork chops with olive oil and sprinkle with the salt and pepper, and rub in brown sugar well on both sides.
  • Place pork chops in heated grill pan and let grill for about 4 minutes. It may be necessary to adjust flame down a bit if they appear to be grilling too hot. But DO NOT touch them or move them around. Let the grill on first side for the 4 minutes.
  • Now flip pork chops over and grill on 2nd side for 4 minutes.
  • Turn off heat but leave pork chops in the grill pan and cover with aluminum foil and let sit for 5-10 minutes. This will finish the cooking process while keeping the pork chops juicy.
  • Remove pork chops from pan and serve.

HOW TO MAKE ICING WITH ICING SUGAR AND WATER

How to Make Icing with Icing Sugar and Water image

The EASIEST tutorial on how to make icing with just icing sugar and water! With just 3 simple ingredients, this smooth & glossy icing is perfect for decorating sugar cookies, brownies, bundt cakes, and quick breads in a pinch! Makes 1/2 cup icing, enough to ice about 12 sugar cookies.

Provided by Melissa Rose

Categories     Dessert

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups powdered sugar
2-3 tablespoons water (luke-warm) (can also use milk)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (oil-free for quicker drying time) (use clear extract for a pure white icing)
1/8 teaspoon salt (optional, see notes)
Food coloring (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine powdered sugar, water, and vanilla extract in a medium-sized bowl. Mix until smooth.
  • Add more water or powdered sugar until it reaches your desired consistency. If using a piping bag, about 2 tablespoons of water is best (you want the icing to be about the consistency of pancake batter). If dipping or drizzling the icing, 3 tablespoons of water will likely be needed. See notes below for storing and freezing notes.
  • Drying time: Depending on the temperature and humidity of your house, drying time will vary. For a thin glaze (dipped), I typically find that it takes 6-8 hours on the counter (uncovered) to fully harden. After about 3 hours, the outside is "set" but the inside will still be soft. You can place a fan nearby to help speed up the drying time.

Note: If using the gel food colouring, I suggest using a tiny amount on the tip of a toothpick to swirl into icing sugar mixture (again, a little goes a long way). If you are using a LIQUID food colouring, you'll want to add a little less water so you don't thin out the glaze too much.
