1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 large apples, cut into 1/2-inch slices
1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook and stir brown sugar and butter over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Add apples; cook, uncovered, over medium heat for 5-7 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in pecans. Serve warm.

These super simple Caramel Pecan Apple Slices are a deliciously easy to make fall treat. Even better, they're already sliced and much easier to eat than a traditional caramel apple!

1 Large Apple
10 Caramel Pieces (or you can use a Caramel Apple Kit)
1/2 Cup of Chopped Pecans
Wilton Cookie Sticks

Steps:

  • Cut one apple into 4 thick slices.
  • Push the cookie stick in the bottom of the apple slice.
  • Melt the caramel in the microwave. Dip each apple slice into the caramel, making sure it's completely coated.
  • Dip each caramel apple into a bowl of pecans, covering it as much as you want.
  • Eat immediately or you can wait for it to harden a bit.

6 wooden pop sticks
1 package (14 ounces) caramels, unwrapped
2 tablespoons water

Steps:

  • Remove stems and thoroughly wash and dry apples; insert pop sticks into tops. Line a baking sheet with parchment and grease the parchment; set aside., Place caramels and water in a small saucepan; cook and stir over medium-low heat 3-5 minutes or until smooth, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Dip each apple in caramel mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Place on prepared pan. Refrigerate until set.

I have been making this pie for my family for years. When my son was young, he would ask me to make "caramel apples in a pie".

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 (9 inch) unbaked double pie crusts
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
7 -8 apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine

Steps:

  • Melt 1/4 cup butter and pour into the bottom of the pie crust; spread to cover bottom.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar over butter and cover with chopped pecans.
  • Place apple slices in pie crust over the nuts and sugar.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Sprinkle over the apple slices.
  • Sprinkle with water and dot apple slices with additional butter.
  • Place top crust over apples and flute edges.
  • Bake at 425° for 15 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to 350° and bake for an additional 35-40 minutes.
  • If fluted edges start to get too dark, cover with foil.
