EASY CARAMEL APPLE SLAB PIE
Transform store-bought pie dough into a dessert stunner with this fast and fresh recipe for Easy Caramel Apple Slab Pie.

- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Lightly flour your work surface then stack two of the circular-shaped pie crusts on top of one another and roll them into a rectangle measuring 12x17 inches. Transfer the dough into a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan, leaving the edges untrimmed.
- In a large bowl, stir together the sliced apples, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and lemon juice. Transfer the apples into the prepared pie crust. Top with the chopped caramels.
- Lightly flour your work surface again then cut the remaining pie crusts into 1/2-inch-thick strips. Braid the strips then arrange them across the pie width-wise. (Scraps can be re-rolled.)
- Using your fingers, crimp the pie crust around the edges.
- Whisk the egg then brush it all over the top and sides of the pie.
- Bake the pie for 28 to 35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for 30 to 40 minutes until the juices have set. Slice and serve.

- Heat oven to 400°F. In large bowl, mix 1 1/4 cups flour, the oats and brown sugar until blended. Cut in cold butter, using fork or pastry blender, until mixture is crumbly. (Do not overmix.) Set aside.
- Remove pie crusts from pouches. On lightly floured surface, unroll and stack crusts one on top of the other. Roll to 17x12-inch rectangle. Fit crust into ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan, pressing firmly into corners and sides. Fold extra crust under, even with edges of pan. Flute or crimp edges.
- In large bowl, stir Filling ingredients until well coated. Spread evenly in pan. Sprinkle streusel over top of apples.
- Bake 38 to 43 minutes or until crust and topping are golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool at least 20 minutes before cutting. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Serve with ice cream, and drizzle with additional caramel sauce.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Combine flour, 1 cup butter, 3/4 cup white sugar, egg, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a food processor; pulse until crumbled and easily formed into dough when pinched. Pour 3/4 of the dough into the prepared pan; press down with your hands until crust is even and well packed.

- Preheat oven to 400°F (200˚C).
- Peel, core, and cut apples into ½-inch (1 ¼ cm) chunks.
- In a bowl, mix the chopped apples, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, and orange zest. Set aside.
- On parchment paper, stack 2 pie crusts on top of each other. Roll out to 17 inches by 12 inches (43 cm by 30 cm). Cut diagonally into ¾-inch (2 cm) strips.
- Roll out another 2 pie crusts. Place on a 15 x 10 x 1 inch ( 38 x 26 x 3 cm) baking sheet.

- In a saucepan set to medium high heat stir together the first four ingredients. Stir constantly until it thickens. Add the butter and vanilla. While the mixture is still hot and in a liquid state spread over the slab pie and let the caramel set on the pie for a few hours.
