For best and even cooking, don't overcrowd the basket. Fill just an even single layer of fish fillets. All air fryers are different and some cook much hotter than others. Once you cook your first batch, you'll know more of what works for your model of air fryer and size of food. These were tested on basket style air fryers. Read more recipe notes below the recipe.   • Place the frozen breaded fish sticks in the air fryer basket. Make sure they aren't overlapping. No oil spray is needed.

  • Remove the number of fish sticks you'd like to cook from the packaging.
  • Put the sticks (in a single layer) into your air fryer basket or air fryer tray. You do not need to oil the basket/tray.
  • Cook the sticks at 400F/200C for a total of 8 minutes. At the 4 minute mark flip and let them finish cooking. When the cooking time is complete, check one of the sticks to make sure they are hot throughout.
  • Gently empty the air fryer basket/tray onto a plate and enjoy!

1 pound of any white fish, I used cod
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 egg
2 tablespoons half and half
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Olive Oil Spray

Steps:

  • Start by slicing your white fish into long strips.
  • Spray your air fryer basket with olive oil.
  • Then prepare your three bowls: 1. Breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. 2. Egg and half and half 3. Flour
  • Dip the fish into the flour, then the egg/half and half mixture, and then the breadcrumb mixture. Be sure to shake the excess off as you bread the fish sticks.
  • As you bread the fish sticks, place them into the greased basket. When you are finished breading them, spray them generously with olive oil.
  • Air Fry at 400 degrees F, for 5 minutes, air fryer setting.
  • Then flip the fish sticks with a pair of tongs, and spray again VERY generously with olive oil.
  • Air fry for another 5 minutes.
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy!

Steps:

  • Preheat air fryer to 350F / 176C.
  • Cut tilapia into bite-sized chunks.
  • Set out three bowls, place flour in one, beat eggs in another, put bread crumbs into the third.
  • Working with one piece of fish at a time, dip into flour, then the eggs, and finally into the breadcrumbs
  • Place fish pieces into the air fryer basket, making sure they don't touch. Depending on the size of your air fryer you should be able to fit 12 pieces in each batch.
  • Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping over halfway through. When finished, remove from air fryer and sprinkle with paprika.

2 spears dill pickle (minced)

  • Prepare cajun tartar sauce. Add all ingredients to a small bowl and whisk well to combine. Cover and place in the fridge for 1 hour prior to serving.
  • Cut fish into 3" by 1/2" strips. *The easiest way to make these uniform in size that I found was cutting the filet down the center, then cutting each half in half again length-wise, then finally cutting in half width-wise.
  • Create a dredging station. Add breadcrumbs and shredded parmesan to one bowl. Add minced garlic, black pepper, cajun seasoning, mayo, sour cream, and dijon mustard to a separate bowl and whisk to combine.
  • Dip the fish into the bowl with mayo, then roll in the breadcrumb and parmesan mix. Repeat with all fish sticks.
  • Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or foil and place fish inside. Spray fish lightly with canola oil. Depending on the size of the air fryer this may take 2 batches. Do not stack the fish sticks or crowd them

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.
  • Place the frozen fish sticks in the basket in an even layer. You will need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer (see notes). Cook for 8 minutes or until golden brown.

2 eggs
2 cups Panko bread crumbs, plus 1/3 cup for the flour mixture
Italian seasoning to taste ((salt, pepper, oregano, thyme))

Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F/180°C for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, get the fish sticks out of the package and pat them dry with a paper towel. Make sure they are thoroughly dry or it will be hard to coat the fish sticks with breadcrumbs later on. Lay them in a single layer in a baking dish.
  • Prepare the breading station: You want to mix panko (or regular) breadcrumbs with some Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in one bowl; whisk eggs in the second bowl, and put flour in the third one. Coat each fish stick by following this order: Flour > Egg > Breadcrumbs.
  • Place the fish sticks in your preheated air fryer basket. Air fry for 15 minutes at 360°F/180°C, turning halfway through the cooking time. Be careful when you take out the fish sticks from the air fryer because they are very hot! The final product should be crisp and golden brown.
  • Heat some marinara sauce in the microwave and serve Gorton's fish sticks with marinara sauce and lemon wedges on the side. Enjoy! You can also add ketchup or tartar sauce to your taste!

2 large eggs
1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
1 cup panko breadcrumb
1 lb. pacific cod, cut into 2-inch strips
½ teaspoon salt-free seasoning (I use dash)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Cooking spray oil (avocado or olive oil)

Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400º Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
  • Mix flour and black pepper in a medium bowl and set aside.In a shallow dish, lightly beat eggs and the chopped parsley and set aside.In a third shallow dish, mix panko and black pepper and set aside.
  • With a paper towel, pat the fish dry, season with salt-free seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to taste.
  • Dip the fish strips one at a time in the flour mixture, shake off the flour excess. Dip in the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off. Coat with the panko, set on a clean plate.
  • Place the coated fish pieces in the air fryer basket spray with oil; cook at 400ºF for 6 minutes on each side or until fish flake easily.

1 lb White Fish like haddock (cod, tilapia, etc, cut into 1-inch sticks)
¼ cup Mayonnaise
2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
2 tablespoons Water
½ cup Crushed Pork Rinds
½ cup Almond Flour
1 teaspoon Paprika
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
½ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Dried Dill
½ teaspoon Black Pepper
Avocado Oil Spray or olive oil spray

Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer or oven to 350ºF (180ºC).
  • Remove the fish fillets from the fridge, pat dry with a paper towel, and cut into sticks 1 inch wide.
  • Into a shallow bowl or large plate, combine the crushed pork rind, almond flour, salt, garlic powder, paprika, dill, and black pepper. Mix with a fork. Set aside.
  • Add the mayonnaise, dijon mustard, and water to a small bowl and whisk to combine.
  • Dip the fish strips into the mayo mixture and tap the excess, transfer to the almond flour mixture, rolling from one side to another of the plate until nicely coated in the breading.
  • Transfer to a plate or straight to the air fryer basket or a greased baking sheet if made in the oven.
  • Repeat the process with the other fish sticks. Don't overlap them; you may need to cook them in 2 or 3 batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Before cooking, spray avocado oil spray or olive oil spray over the breaded fish sticks.
  • Cook for 5 to 6 minutes, turn over, and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes or more until crisp and center are tender and cooked.
  • Remove from the air fryer or oven and serve immediately.
