PEPPERMINT LIP BALM

Peppermint Lip Balm image

A lovely balm, I received this recipe from a friend at a gift basket making party where some of the baskets contained homemade products like this.

Provided by Barefoot Beachcomber

Yield 3 Tablespoons

Number Of Ingredients 3

Ingredients

1 tablespoon beeswax
2 tablespoons almond extract
3 -5 drops peppermint extract

Steps:

Fill a small saucepan 1/3 full with hot water.
Place all the above in a pottery creamer.
Use a creamer because it's easy to pour.
Set the creamer in the saucepan and heat the water until all the ingredients are melted.
Pour hot mixture into small (purse size?) jars.
Close tightly.
Store in fridge.

In a double boiler over medium heat, melt together the beeswax pellets and coconut oil, stirring until smooth. Add the shea butter and stir until melted and smooth. Remove from the stove top but keep the boiler over the hot water to keep the mixture liquid.
Use a dropper to fill the empty chapstick containers. Let cool for a few hours before putting the cap back on.
