DEWALT DW735 PLANER PROBLEMS - FINEWOODWORKING
I have the Dewalt DW735 planer which was purchased shortly after they showed up on the market. The chips collect inside the compartment where the chain and motor are. I purchased a new shroud that goes over the cutter head and to the fan that is attached to the motor but the inside still fills with chips after just a few boards.

I did a noise comparison between the DW735 and the cheap Mastercraft planer. Without a hose hooked up, the DW735's blower is incredibly loud. When planing, both planers get substantially louder, but the DW735 is louder. I'm guessing the solid steel cylinder head of the Mastercraft planer makes less noise than the triangular head on the DW735.
