This is a recipe that I came up with out of laziness. I did not want to go to the store and it is made up of things that I had on hand. To my surprise my wife liked it so much she requests it. It is very easy and uses ingredients that I almost always have on hand for other recipes.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef, drained
3 (3 ounce) packets beef-flavor ramen noodles or 3 (3 ounce) packets chicken-flavored ramen noodles
5 cups boiling water
1/4-1/2 cup water
1 (16 ounce) can corn (drained)
1 (16 ounce) can peas (drained)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 dash cinnamon
2 teaspoons sugar

Steps:

Brown and drain the ground beef.
In a medium pan boil 5 cups of water.
Add ramen noodles. Boil for 3 minutes stirring occasionally.
Drain noodles and place them back in the pan.
Add water, corn, peas, soy sauce, red pepper, cinnamon, sugar and 1 and a half of the seasoning packets that come with the ramen noodles. Mix all together.
Cook on low heat while mixing for about 5 minute or until all heated.

Ramen noodles are always popular with kids -- but the ones you buy are really high in salt and it only takes a few minutes to make your own! It's also fun to serve them in a glass or cup. This recipe comes from Disney's Family Fun website.

Ingredients

2 1/2 ounces ramen noodles (1 packet of cheap Ramen. Discard the flavoring packet)
1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
1 1/2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce
1/3 cup frozen peas
1/3 cup drained canned corn or 1/3 cup frozen corn
1/2 cup shredded cooked chicken
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1 scallion, thinly sliced

Steps:

Cook the noodles according to the packet instructions . Drain and set aside.
Put the broth, soy sauce, peas, corn and chicken in a pan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes.
In a small cup, mix the cornstarch with 1 tsp cold water and add to the contents of the pan, then cook, stirring for another minute or until the liquid thickens slightly.
Add the noodles and scallion and reheat briefly, stirring. Transfer to a bowl or small cup to serve.
