DEAN'S FAMILY REUNION BAKED BEANS
Dean is the name that I was called as a kid growing up by the older generation of adults. Many of whom never realized that my actual name was Rose Mary. So when I added this recipe to my cookbook I named the recipe Dean's Family Reunion Baked Beans, so that they would know that this is the original recipe that I had been making...

Steps:
- 1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 325 DEGREES F. Saute onions & bell peppers with lean ground beef until meat is browned in a large commercial- size pot. Drain any excess fat & liquid when meat mixture is cooked. Add meat mixture back into pot, & then add catsup, mustard, liquid smoke, molasses, Bar B Q sauce, brown sugar & DRAINED beans into pot, & simmer over low heat.
- 2. With a large spoon stir to mix all the ingredients together. Continue to stir occassionally while cooking over low heat to prevent sticking. Let simmer uncovered, about 30 minutes .Then remove from heat.
- 3. Precook all of the bacon partially in microwave. Then spray a large deep roasting pan or several 9 X 13 size pans with cooking spray, then pour beans into pans. Cover top of beans randomly with precooked bacon slices. Bake in preheated 325 degree F. oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until some of the liquid has baked off, and beans appear to have thickened.
- 4. PLEASE NOTE: Oven temperatures vary so please check after 1 1/2 hours. Enjoy The Beefy Baked Beans recipe that I posted is somewhat similiar to this one but smaller in size, with a few slight variations.

BAKED BEANS (A FAMILY RECIPE FROM CHEF PATRICK O'CONNELL)
This recipe was passed down to Chef Patrick O'Connell from his Grandmother. Baking in an earthenware pot brings out the best flavor of this recipe. These beans may be served hot or at room temperature. Cooking time includes overnight soaking time.

- 3. Chop the onion. Add to beans along with the sugar and garlic powder, folding gently into the beans.
- 4. Adjust the oven heat down to 325 degrees. Add the bacon, gently folding into the beans.

MOHNEY REUNION BEANS
Wonderful combination of beans! This recipe is great for a big crowd but it also freezes well! My husband LOVES this recipe! I got this recipe from my second cousin so I'm not sure who gets credit for it but it really is a good bean recipe. I like to make it in my crock pot, too!

SPICY BAKED BEANS
My spin on a Jimmy Dean bakeoff winner 2005. In my picture, I made 1/2 the recipe which makes plenty. I kept the full amount (1 lb) pork sausage, used chipotle powder for the red pepper and would cut back on the black pepper if you like it less spicy.

JIM'S ALMOST FAMOUS CROCKPOT BAKED BEANS
This recipe came from a friend's dad. It can be changed around using different kinds of pork sausage and BBQ sauce. I've always had allot of complements on this recipe. Goes well with grilled foods. A side dish that can't be beat. To make more add another can of Beans and 1/2 cup BBQ sauce and garlic to taste.
