DAD'S DAY STRATA
I wanted to make my husband a nice Father's Day brunch, but we were in dire need of a trip to the grocery store. I scrounged what we had in the kitchen, and the Dad's Day Strata was born! It turned out very yummy and is very easy.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch square casserole dish.
- Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add broccoli, cover, and steam until tender, 2 to 4 minutes.
- Mix steamed broccoli, bread cubes, diced tomatoes, ham, and pepper jack cheese together in a large bowl.
- Beat eggs, cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper together in a separate bowl; stir into broccoli mixture. Pour mixture into the prepared casserole dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until eggs are set in the middle, about 35 minutes. Allow to cool for 3 to 5 minutes before cutting.

Steps:
- Place 1 loaf of bread cubes in a 13x9-inch baking dish greased with some oil or butter.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, crumble and cook 1 pound of pork sausage, 1 chopped green pepper and 1 chopped onion for about 5-7 minutes until the meat is no longer pink. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the mixture over the bread cubes in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the top.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk 6 large eggs with 1 teaspoon of ground mustard and 2 cups of milk until combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Then pour the mixture over the bake.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F and remove strata dish from the refrigerator.
- Remove cover from the dish and bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes until set and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool for about 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
