4 cube steaks
1 cup flour
garlic powder, to taste
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
3 cups beef broth
1 onion
2 cups sliced button mushrooms
2 garlic cloves
6 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Season steaks and flour with garlic powder,salt and pepper to your taste.
  • Coat steaks in flour and shake off excess.
  • Melt 3 tablespoons butter in skillet and brown steaks on both sides. Place steaks in crockpot.
  • Melt remaining butter, add onions and mushrooms and cook 5 minutes or until just softened.
  • Add remaining flour to onions and mushrooms. Stir until they are coated and cook 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Stir in broth slowly, simmer until thickened slightly. Taste and correct seasoning.
  • Pour broth mixture over steaks in crockpot.
  • Cook on low 6 hours or until tender.
  • Serve over rice or with Mashed potatoes.

1 lb beef round cube steak
salt
pepper
garlic powder
1/2 cup flour
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 package brown gravy mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 (4 ounce) cans mushrooms
1 cup long grain white rice
1 1/2 cups beef broth

Steps:

  • Cut cube steaks into serving size portions.
  • Season to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Lightly coat steaks with flour.
  • Prepare brown gravy in small saucepan according to package directions.
  • Reserve.
  • Heat oil in large heavy skillet.
  • Add onions and saute about 1 min.
  • Add steak and brown on both sides.
  • Add mushroom soup.
  • Add water to soup can (about 1/2 can) and swish to remove soup.
  • Add to skillet with meat mixture.
  • Add brown gravy mixture and stir to blend.
  • Bring to boil, cover, lower heat and simmer about 45 mins or until meat is tender and you can cut it with edge of fork.
  • Add mushrooms, stir to heat and serve over rice.
  • TO PREPARE RICE: Rinse rice in strainer.
  • Place rice in saucepan, add broth.
  • Liquid should reach first knuckle on your finger.
  • Bring to boil, stir, cover, lower heat to simmer and cook about 15 mins.
  • Fluff with fork.

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
2 beef cube steaks (1/4 to 1/3 pound each)
2 tablespoons butter, divided
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, divided
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon chopped onion
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Add beef, a piece at a time, and shake to coat. , In a large skillet brown steak over medium heat, in 1 tablespoon butter until meat is no long pink. Remove the steaks to a serving platter; spread each with 1/2 teaspoon mustard. Pour 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce over each; keep warm. , In the same skillet, saute mushrooms and onion in remaining butter until tender. Add parsley and remaining Worcestershire sauce. ½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning, or to taste
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Season the steaks on both sides with Cajun seasoning and black pepper. Place the steaks into the prepared baking dish. Pour the lemon-lime beverage over them. Combine the cream of mushroom soup and dry onion soup mix, and pour over the steaks.

¼ cup flour
¼ cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon salt
6 cube steaks
2 tablespoons butter, or as needed
1 cup milk, or to taste
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Whisk flour, cornstarch, 1 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon salt together in a shallow bowl. Spread 1 tablespoon of the flour mixture onto a plate; press each cube steak into flour mixture to coat completely.
  • Place coated steaks on a work surface and pound each several times with a meat tenderizer on each side to pound flour into steak. Pound each steak a second time to further incorporate flour mixture into the meat.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until skillet is about 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cook steaks in hot butter until browned, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer steaks and any stray pieces of meat to a plate and tent with aluminum foil to keep warm. Let skillet cool briefly.
  • Heat the same skillet over low heat. Pour enough milk into the skillet to cover the bottom of the pan. Whisk 1 tablespoon flour mixture into hot milk until gravy has a cream-like consistency, 10 to 15 minutes. Add more flour mixture as necessary to thicken gravy. Transfer any steak scraps back into the skillet and season gravy with salt and black pepper.
  • Place hot steaks on plates and top with gravy.
