Ham Barbecue Sandwiches image

These make a great, easy meal. They're also great to make/take for large gatherings; you can put the ham barbecue in a crock pot to keep warm. I sometimes put a slice of cheese on them before serving.

3 lbs chipped deli ham
3 cups ketchup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons minced onions
16 kaiser rolls or 16 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic and onion. Stir until smooth. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and add ham. Stir and cook until heated through.
  • Serve warm on split kaiser/hamburger buns.

1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons white vinegar

Steps:

  • Place ham in a greased 3-qt. slow cooker. In a large bowl, combine water, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and mustard; pour over ham and stir well. Cover and cook on low until heated through, 4-5 hours. Serve on buns.

1 tsp dry mustard
1 1/4 pounds shaved ham

Steps:

  • In a crock pot, combine chili sauce, barbecue sauce, brown sugar and dry mustard.
  • Add ham the the sauce and stir gently to coat.
  • Heat on low until bubbly (about 1/2 hours) then reduce the crock pot setting to "warm" until ready to serve. Serve on hamburger buns.Serves 8.

Steps:

  • Spray your crockpot with a nonstick spray or use a crockpot liner to make clean up a breeze.
  • Place the ham in your crockpot, mine fit in an 8 quart Crockpot.
  • Rub the ham down with the ground mustard while it is in the crockpot.
  • Pour in 2 cans of Coca Cola over the ham and in the sides of the ham.
  • Pour in 1-2 cans of Coca Cola
  • Place lid on the crockpot, if your lid doesn't seal us the tin foil to finish making a seal on the crockpot.

1 small leek (white and light green parts only), halved lengthwise and cut into 1-inch pieces
1 1/2 to 2 pounds boneless smoked pork shoulder (picnic ham)
2 sprigs thyme, plus leaves for topping
1 1-pound package frozen black-eyed peas (about 4 cups), thawed

Steps:

  • Whisk the beef broth, tomato paste, maple syrup, molasses, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and chili powder in a 4-quart slow cooker. Add the leek and set the pork on top; nestle the thyme sprigs in the liquid. Add the black-eyed peas. Cover and cook on low until the pork is fork-tender, 7 to 8 hours, or on high, 4 hours.
  • Remove the pork to a cutting board and slice. Add up to 1 cup water to the beans in the slow cooker to loosen; serve with the pork. Top with thyme.

2 lb chopped ham lunchmeat sliced very thin
SAUCE
1 bottle heinz chili sauce
1 can(s) coca-cola
1/2 c dill pickle relish
1/2 thinly sliced onion
ALTERNATE SAUCE
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 c ketchup
2 Tbsp worsteschire sauce
2 tsp yellow mustard
1/2 c water

Steps:

  • 1. Add all the ingredients to the Crockpot and cook on high for approximately 1 hour to thicken the sauce.
  • 2. Reduce Heat to low and keep warm as long as needed for serving.
  • 3. Use tongs to serve on hamburger or kaiser rolls with pickle slices on the side and your choice of side dish or potato chips. TEENS will eat it up like crazy!

  • In a large saucepan, combine the first 8 ingredients; if desired, stir in liquid smoke. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes, stirring occasionally., Place ham in a 5- or 6-qt. slow cooker. Add sauce; stir gently to combine. Cook, covered, on low 2-3 hours or until heated through. Serve on rolls. Top with pepperoncini if desired.
