The mixture sounds weird but it is actually very good. You can add potatoes and carrots if you want during the last couple of hours. This is a good recipe if you aren't going to be home all day to watch it.

1 (3 pound) beef brisket, visible fat trimmed
1 cup ketchup
¼ cup grape jelly
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Cut brisket in half across the grain and place a half into a slow cooker. Spread with half the ketchup and grape jelly; sprinkle with half the dry onion soup mix. Place remaining piece of brisket on top of the first piece and repeat spreading with remaining ketchup, grape jelly, and onion soup mix. Sprinkle black pepper into cooker.
  • Cover the cooker and cook on Low until meat is very tender, 8 to 10 hours.

1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained and reserve juice
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic (or to taste)
3 -6 tablespoons oil
1 1/2 lbs boneless beef sirloin (cut into 1-1/2-inch pieces, or use a cut of beef of choice)
1/2 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes (or to taste)
salt and pepper
3 cups baby carrots, cut in half
1 large onion, cut into about 1-inch pieces
3 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons cold water
1 large green pepper, seeded and chopped

Steps:

  • In a small bowl combine brown sugar, cider vinegar, reserved pineapple juice, soy sauce and garlic.
  • Add/stir in the brown sugar until completely dissolved; set aside.
  • Heat oil in a skillet.
  • Season the beef cubes with salt and pepper then brown in hot oil on all sides.
  • Place the browned meat in the slow cooker along with the red pepper flakes.
  • Add in carrots and onion to the slow cooker.
  • Pour the pineapple juice mixture over the veggies and beef.
  • Cover and cook on LOW setting for 7-9 hours or on HIGH heat for about 3-4 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  • Increase the heat to HIGH.
  • Dissolve the cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl.
  • Add in the cornstarch mixture, pineapple chunks and green pepper into the beef mixture in the slow cooker.
  • Continue to cook for about 30 minutes, or until the green pepper is crisply tender and the juices are thickened.
  • Serve with cooked rice.

1 1/2 lbs trimmed beef brisket
1/2 cup diced onion
1 (7 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, and the liquid
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup catsup
1/2 cup vinegar
1 (12 ounce) can beer
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Place all the ingredients, except the corn starch into a Crock Pot and cook for 12 hours on low.
  • When finished, remove the brisket, shred, and return to the Crock pot.
  • Mix the Corn Starch with a tablespoon of water and add to the stew, mix well.

1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • Place brisket fat side up into slow cooker, sprinkle garlic powder on top and rub ketchup generously into brisket.
  • Add onion slices all around and on top of meat, add enough water to coat the bottom of the cooker.
  • Cook on low, all day, for the most tender brisket you will ever eat.
  • For gravy, remove brisket and turn thermostat to high.
  • Mix flour with 1/4 cup water, add to pot and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

1 (18 ounce) bottle sweet and sour sauce
1 cup pineapple tidbits, drained

  • Place the frozen meatballs, peppers, onions & sweet and sour sauce into a gallon-sized freezer bag. Zip close & place in freezer. When ready to use thaw in fridge overnight. Empty contents into crock-pot and cook on low 4 hours, during the last hour add in the pineapple.

3 lbs beef brisket
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
3/4 cup beef broth
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons dry onion soup mix
12 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • Lightly sprinkle brisket with salt and pepper to taste. Brown brisket in oil in large skitllet; transfer brisket to crockpot and saute the onion, celery and garlic 1 minute in the same skillet.
  • Add remaining ingredients to the skillet except the buns; blend well scraping up bits from the pan, bring to a boil. Pour over the brisket.
  • Cover and cook on low 7 to 8 hours on low or until tender. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. Serve meat with buns.

  • Transfer the brisket to a cutting board and let stand for 5 minutes. Skim the fat from the sauce. Slice the brisket across the grain 1/4 inch thick and return the meat to the sauce. Cover and cook on high for about 1 hour, until the meat is very tender. Transfer the brisket to a warm platter. Add the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons of vinegar to the sauce and season with salt and pepper. Serve the brisket with the sauce and with buttered egg noodles.
