CROCK POT SMOTHERED CHICKEN
My Mom used to make this all the time in the oven. However I have changed it to lower the fat content and tried it in my crock pot. It worked out wonderful and I wanted to share.

- Place Chicken in Crockpot, Season (to taste).
- Sprinkle Flour on Chicken.
- Mix Soup and Milk (till creamy).
- Pour over Chicken.
- Cover.
- Cook for 4-6 Hours.
- Nice Gravy can be used over Potatoes, Rice or Pasta.
SLOW-COOKER SMOTHERED CHICKEN

Steps:
- Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
- Heat 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Add bacon; cook and stir until browned. Using slotted spoon, transfer bacon to slow cooker. Drain all but 2 tablespoons drippings from skillet.
- Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Increase heat to medium-high; add chicken thighs to skillet. Cook about 3 minutes on each side or until browned. Transfer to slow cooker. Add mushrooms to skillet; cook about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Transfer to slow cooker.
- Reduce heat of skillet to medium; add oil and onion. Cook and stir about 4 minutes or until softened. Add garlic; cook and stir 1 minute. Transfer to slow cooker. Add condensed soup to slow cooker; stir to combine. Cover; cook on High heat setting 3 hours or until chicken is tender. Add whipping cream; stir to combine. Cover; cook about 10 minutes or until hot. Serve with angel hair pasta, if desired.

CROCK POT BBQ SMOTHERED CHICKEN
I love my crock pot. It sure makes life easier for me since I started using it. I just wish I had started when I got it. It was a gift from my daughter and her hubby and I let it sit in my pantry for 5 or 6 years before I ever tried to cook in it because I figured I didn't know how to use it. But it is so easy and so convenient. If you have one sitting around, USE IT! You will love it.

- Cook chicken in crock pot on low with water for 7 hours.
- Heat remaining ingredients in a pan till boiling.

CROCK POT SMOTHERED CHICKEN
I adapted this from a regular smothered chicken recipe. You can use 8 ounces of sliced canned mushrooms, if desired, or 1 pound of fresh mushrooms.

CROCK POT SMOTHERED CHICKEN WITH GRAVY
Crock pot smothered chicken with gravy is a really easy recipe with lots of tender chicken and mushrooms. The gravy is amazing over rice.

- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, water and onion soup mix.
- Lay the chicken at the bottom of the crock pot.
- Season with the black pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the top of the chicken and top with the mushrooms.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Enjoy!

I found this recipe on the frugal living examiner site. I haven't tried this yet but I wanted to post it here so that I can find it easily when I'm ready to make it. A note from the original recipe author, "salt and pepper to taste, but you may not need any since the gravy mix is salty".

- Cook and stir bacon in large skillet on medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels. Drain all but 2 Tbsp. drippings from skillet. Add onions to reserved drippings; cook 15 to 18 min. or until golden brown, stirring occasionally and adding flour, pepper and half the bacon to skillet for the last minute. Whisk in broth until blended. (Onion mixture will be thick.)
- Add chicken to slow cooker; cover with onion mixture. Cook on LOW 4 to 5 hours (or on HIGH 2 to 3 hours). About 15 min. before ready to serve, cook noodles as directed on package, omitting salt.
- Drain noodles; place on platter. Top with chicken, reserving onion mixture in slow cooker. Mix cream cheese spread, milk and garlic powder until blended. Add to onion mixture; mix well. Spoon over chicken; top with parsley and remaining bacon.
