Put this recipe together when I was having a buffet style dinner for family birthday party. I had a bottle of maple syrup that was just craving to be put in something. Everyone loved it so decided to post.

1 (3 lb) box frozen meatballs (or can make your own)
2 cups barbecue sauce (I use Miss Diana)
1 1/2 cups maple syrup
2 cups pineapple (I used fresh but can substitute canned)
1 green pepper (cut up)
2 garlic cloves (cut each into 4 pieces)

Steps:

  • Mix together barbeque sauce and maple syrup.
  • Add pineapple, green pepper and garlic.
  • Pour half the sauce into crock pot.
  • Add the meatballs.
  • Cover with remaining sauce.
  • Cook for 6 hrs on low setting.

1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks with juice
1 medium onion, diced
1 bell peppers, diced
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Combine frozen meatballs, barbeque sauce, pineapple chunks and juice, onion, bell pepper, and garlic powder in a slow cooker. Mix all ingredients together until the meatballs are well covered with sauce using a large spoon. Put the lid on the slow cooker.
  • Cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours, or High for 2 to 3 hours. Stir well before serving.

1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 cup ketchup
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
10 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Place pork in a large roasting pan; brush with vinegar. Add 1/2 in. water to pan. Cover and bake until tender, 2-1/2 to 3 hours. Remove roast; when cool enough to handle, shred meat with 2 forks., In a large saucepan, combine ketchup, barbecue sauce, syrup, mustard, liquid smoke if desired, pepper and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 2 minutes. Add pork; heat through. Serve on buns.

2 lbs lean ground beef (ground chicken is also an option)
1 cup crushed Ritz cracker
2 tablespoons bottled barbecue sauce
1 teaspoon A.1. Original Sauce
2 egg whites
1 tablespoon margarine
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 -2 dash chili powder
1 -2 dash garlic powder
1 (20 -22 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce (use your favorite)
20 -22 ounces water
1 large onion, diced
1 tablespoon A.1. Original Sauce
2/3 cup catsup
1/4 cup mustard (brown works best)

Steps:

  • Sauce:.
  • Saute diced onion in a large saute pan, put half aside to cool.
  • Add BBQ sauce, A-1, mustard, and ketchup.
  • Fill the empty BBQ sauce bottle with water and add to pan.
  • Bring to a simmer, for 5 minutes, then set aside.
  • Meatballs:.
  • In a small mixing bowl; blend: egg whites, bbq sauce, A1 sauce, salt, pepper, chili and garlic powders, and margarine.
  • Place the beef in a large mixing bowl and slowly add the blended ingredients.
  • Slowly add crushed crackers and mix until well blended.
  • Roll into small (3/4- 1 inch balls).
  • Bake on greased sheet in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
  • After meatballs are all baked, place them into your crock pot and add the sauce.
  • cook on low for 4-5 hours.
  • Can be served with toothpicks as an appetizer, on rolls for a sandwich, or over egg noodles as dinner.
