This is a super easy recipe! I will often have this ham going in one of my crock pots and my crock pot mac and cheese in my other one,

1 kg fully cooked deli ham
40 whole cloves, divided
8 tablespoons honey, divided

Steps:

  • Cut ham in equal halves.
  • Stick 20 whole cloves into each half.
  • You can cut a diamond pattern first if you want, and stick one clove into the center of the diamond.
  • Place each ham into a Ziploc bag and freeze until ready to use.
  • If desired, defrost one ham the night before you wish to make it (I will often make it right from frozen, but most people argue that this is not safe).
  • Place 4 tbsp of honey over one ham before cooking and cook on high for about 3 hours or on low for 6 hours, Increase cooking time if making from frozen.
  • Repeat steps 5 and 6 for second ham.

My family is not big on ham but I love it. This is a good recipe to make and freeze the left overs into single serve portions. I also added a small amount of chopped onions and some black pepper and extra cheese because I love cheese =)

1 cup noodles, uncooked
vegetable oil
1 cup ham, cubed
10 3/4 ounces cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cup green peppers or 1/4 cup red pepper, chopped

Steps:

  • Cook noodles according to package directions until barely tender (I cook approximately 5 to 6 minutes).
  • Drain and toss with just enough oil to coat.
  • Add noodles and remaining ingredients to a greased crock pot or use a crock pot liner, and stir to mix.
  • Cover. Cook on Low for 7 to 9 hours.

A while ago someone asked for a recipe for crock pot ham, Diana Neal suggested doing it with pineapple and brown sugar so last night I experimented and this recipe is the result. Mitchell hams are a small solid ham but you can adjust this recipe to accommodate any size or type of ham Do not over cook it. The raisin sauce is so easy and tastes great. Since this is a first try recipe I would ask anyone that tries this recipe to please send in comments and any adjustments that you make I feel it has a way to go before it is just right.

1 (1 kg) Mitchell black forest ham
1 (14 ounce) can crushed pineapple
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon allspice
16 whole cloves
3 shallots, chopped
3/4 cup dark raisin

Steps:

  • Mix all the ingredients except raisins and ham in your crock pot.
  • Place ham in crock pot, spoon some of the mixture over the ham, turn to low.
  • Cook for 4 hours, after 3 hours add the raisins to the pot.
  • Carve and serve.
  • Put sauce in a serving bowl and it's done.

cooking spray
1 (8 pound) spiral-cut ham, or more to taste
½ cup honey
½ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
⅓ cup water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • Spray the slow cooker insert with cooking spray and place ham inside.
  • Combine honey, brown sugar, mustard, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, whisking thoroughly, until sugar is melted and ingredients are combined, 2 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Pour water into the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour sauce over the ham. Cover.
  • Cook in the slow cooker on Low, 6 to 8 hours. Baste the ham with the juices from the bottom once every hour.
  • Remove ham from the slow cooker. Pour juices from the bottom into a saucepan over medium heat. Mix cornstarch and water together in a bowl and pour into the saucepan. Cook until mixture thickens into a glaze, 6 to 8 minutes. Pour glaze over the ham or use as a gravy.
