A delicious twist on an old favorite. A rich and sinful caramel layer nestled between two layers of Krispies bars. It is sweet, it is gooey, and once you try these you won't ever want to eat a plain Krispies bar again! (Prep time includes refrigeration)

Steps:
- Layer One: Melt the margarine and marshmallows.
- Stir in Rice Krispies cereal.
- Pat in a buttered 9 x 13 baking pan.
- Layer Two: Melt the caramels, margarine and milk and bring to a boil.
- Pour over layer one.
- Refrigerate 35-40 minutes, until set.
- Layer Three: Melt margarine and marshmallows.
- Add Rice Krispies cereal (and coconut).
- Pat on top of cooled caramel layer two.
- *May add melted chocolate or caramel chips, if desired.

This always bring's back chilhood memories. It's an old time dessert that my mom made quite frequently. You may also use CornFlakes or RiceChex instead of the Krispies.

- Mix all together. (omitting the icecream).
- Spread 1/2 the mixture in a buttered 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Slice icecream (softened) on top.
- Sprinkle with remaining crumbs over the top.
- Refreeze.
- It's already quite sweet, but if you're so inclined, drizzle with a little of your favorite ice-cream topping. Butterscotch, caramel, or hotfudge all work.

A favorite for children and grown ups alike. A combination of corn syrup, peanut butter, and Rice Krispies with your choice of ice cream or yogurt sandwiched in between.Place a piece of plastic wrap on top of the cereal mixture and then press down with your hands if you wish to keep your hands clean. I keep a plastic quilt ruler with my baking supplies for measuring squares and pastry. From a magazine clipping. No baking required!

Steps:
- In a medium bowl, stir together corn syrup and peanut butter.
- Add cereal and stir until well coated.
- Press mixture firmly and evenly into a buttered 9"x13" pan.
- Place in freezer until firm, about 15 minutes.
- Cut cereal mixture in half crosswise.
- Spread one half with softened ice cream or frozen yogurt.
- Top with second half of Rice Krispie mixture to make one very large sandwich.
- Freeze until firm, about 2 hours.
- Cut large sandwich into 2" portions (using ruler again).
- Wrap individually in foil paper or freezer wrap and store in freezer until needed.

- In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and sugar. Stir in rice cereal, 1 cup at a time; remove from heat.
- Press 1/2 of crispy mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Slice off sections of ice cream, and spread entire half gallon in an even layer over crispy mixture. Top with remaining crispy mixture. Drizzle caramel topping over dessert. Freeze for at least 1 hour.

SALTED CARAMEL RICE KRISPIE TREATS
Steps:
- Melt caramels and butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat until melted and smooth. Add caramel ice cream topping and stir. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a large pot, melt butter over medium-low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until almost melted.
- Stir in vanilla, 1 tsp of sea salt, and about ⅔ of the caramel mixture. Stir until ingredients are completely combined.
- Remove from heat. Stir in cereal, a cup at a time, until it's evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Press mixture into a 13x9-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray - press down with a spatula sprayed with cooking spray.
- Spread the reserved caramel mixture over rice krispie treats. Sprinkle with the remaining 2 tsp of the sea salt.
- Let treats cool, then cut into squares and enjoy!

- Put a heatproof bowl over a pan with 2-3cm of boiling water in the bottom, into this break the chocolate and allow to melt slowly. When it’s about 60% melted, pour in two-thirds of your marshmallows into the bowl; stir until it’s all melted. Take the pan off the heat (but not the bowl off the pan) and pour in the rice crispies, stirring with a wooden spoon until the rice crispies are completely coated in chocolate.
- Press the crispies into the base and sides of a 23cm loose bottomed cake tin and set aside for ten minutes (preferably out of the kitchen) to set.
- Take your ice cream and mix it a bit until it is loose (this is easier if it’s been sitting out for 15 minutes). In a pot put your caster sugar and put on a medium heat to make the caramel.
- Watch the pan like a hawk, but don’t stir (shake it slightly if you really feel the need). Swirl slightly towards the end so the thinner parts don’t burn. When all the sugar has melted and it is colour has turned a convincing shade of caramel drizzle about half a tablespoon of warm water into it. It will splutter and jump (so be careful, no one wants caramel burn), but this will thin it enough so that it won’t set like rock.
