1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4-1/2 cup sugar
1 small sweet onion, cut into wedges
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup olive oil
salad greens
tomatoes, cut into wedges
cucumber, sliced (or vegetables of your choice)

Steps:

  • In a blender, place the mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, onion, salt and pepper; cover and process until smooth.
  • While processing, gradually add oil in a steady stream.
  • Let chill in fridge for about an hour before serving to let onion flavor mellow.
  • Serve over salad.
  • Refrigerate leftover dressing.

Salad greens, tomato wedges and cucumber slices or vegetables of your choice

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, onion, salt and pepper; cover and process until smooth. While processing, gradually add oil in a steady stream. Serve with salad. Refrigerate leftover dressing.

1 head iceberg lettuce
1 cup halved cherry tomatoes
4 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
Creamy French Dressing, recipe follows
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon sour cream
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/3 cup vegetable oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Remove the outside leaves from the lettuce and cut in half. Remove the core and slice the halves in half again, making 4 wedges and wash thoroughly. Drizzle with Creamy French Dressing and sprinkle the tomato halves and bacon over the salad.
  • Combine the first 8 ingredients in a small bowl. Add the oil slowly while whisking constantly. Season, to taste, with salt and pepper.

1 cup vegetable oil
½ cup ketchup
½ cup vinegar
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic

Steps:

  • Combine sugar, oil, ketchup, vinegar, onion, and Worcestershire sauce in a blender; puree until dressing is smooth. Transfer dressing to a resealable container.

So this is what I came up with and it worked for my taste and my grandson's! We dump it on everything! No more store bought French dressing for us!

1/2 cup mayonnaise (Homemade, Store bought or Vegan)
1/2 cup ketchup (I use Annie's Organic)
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (I use Bragg's Organic)
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons onion juice (I just grate onions)
1 tablespoon crushed garlic
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup olive oil
1 dash salt and pepper, to your taste
1/4 cup milk or 1/4 cup buttermilk

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in food processor or blender (except olive oil) and blend.
  • When all ingredients are blended slowly pour in olive oil.
  • Let sit for at least 12 hours for all the flavor to marinate together! Enjoy!
  • I make my own mayo and use organic ketchup and vinegar!
