CRANBERRY APPLE SCONES
This is a lighter scone version that goes well with a warm drink in the morning and is an easy recipe for kids to try.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
- Whisk flour, muffin mix, brown sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt together in a bowl. Cut butter into flour mixture using a pastry blender or fork until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Combine apple and dried cranberries together in a bowl; mix into flour mixture.
- Beat half-and-half and egg together in a bowl until frothy; slowly stir into flour mixture using a rubber spatula until dough forms. Knead dough 4 to 5 times. Roll dough into a rectangle onto a lightly floured work surface using your hands. Cut rectangle in half diagonally and each half into 4 triangles, making 8 triangles. Arrange triangles on the prepared baking sheet.
- Whisk egg white and confectioners' sugar together in a bowl; brush over each triangle.
- Bake in the preheated oven until scones are golden brown, about 20 minutes.

Steps:
- Measure flour, sugar,baking powder,soda,and salt into a large bowl.
- Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Add shredded apple, cranberries and milk.
- Stir to form a soft dough.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
- Knead gently 8 to 10 times.
- Pat into two 6 inch circles.
- Brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Cut each circle into six pie-shaped wedges.
- Place onto greased baking sheet.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, or until browned.
- Serve warm with Butter.

- Combine the first 5 ingredients (dry ingredients).
- With a pastry blender or 2 knives cut in the butter until crumbles are the size of peas Add cranberries, mix well.
- In a small bowl combine:applesauce, yogurt& peel.
- Add to dry ingredients and mix gently, do not knead.
- Remove dough from bowl, divide into four parts and divide each quarter into 4 parts making 16 scones.
- Be as gentle as possible when forming sconePlace on a cookie sheet, do not let the scones touch Bake 18-25 minutes or until browned.

QUICK CRANBERRY SCONES

- Whisk flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter or 2 knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cranberries and chocolate chips just until coated with flour.
