Cosmopolitan Sorbet Food

COSMOPOLITAN SORBET

Steps:

• Bring sugar and water to a boil in a 3-quart heavy saucepan, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add cranberries and simmer, uncovered, until berries are collapsed, 8 to 10 minutes. Pour through a large sieve into a bowl, gently pressing on solids to extract liquid (without forcing pulp through), and discard solids. Cool syrup, then chill, covered, until cold.
• Stir in vodka, lime juice, and Cointreau and freeze in ice cream maker. Transfer to an airtight container and put in freezer to harden.

SGROPPINO (ITALIAN COCKTAIL)

Steps:

• Pour the Prosecco and vodka into 4 champagne flutes. Spoon a scoop of sorbet into each flute. Sprinkle with mint and serve immediately.

SIMPLE SORBETTO

Steps:

• Add the berries, syrup, salt and vodka, if using, to a high-speed blender. Pulse the mixture to create a coarse puree. Scrape down the sides of the blender with a rubber spatula. Continue to pulse, scraping down the sides as needed, until smooth and scoop-able. Enjoy immediately or store in the freezer in an airtight container.

COSMOPOLITAN MARTINI

Steps:

• Pour jigger of vodka in shaker.
• Put splash (just a quick splash) of triple sec.
• Pour in cranberry juice.
• The real stuff is so much better than the cocktail.
• Fill shaker with ice.
• Shake until mixed and chilled.
• Take chilled martini glass (if you have them,it is not necessary and twist lime into bottom of it, squeezing in the lime juice and put twist in glass.
• Pour contents of shaker into glass. Color should be a dark pink to red, depending on taste.
• Enjoy!

CRANBERRY SORBET FROZEN COSMOPOLITAN

Steps:

• Stir gelatin into 3 cups water in a bowl until dissolved.
• Place cranberries into a large pot and cover with water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until skins pop open, 10 to 15 minutes. Drain cranberries through a sieve.
• Combine cranberries, gelatin-water mixture, and sugar in a pot; bring to a simmer. Cook and stir cranberry mixture until sugar is dissolved, 5 to 10 minutes. Set aside to cool; stir in lemon juice.
• Pour cranberry mixture into a container and cover; freeze 8 hours or overnight.
• Blend 2 cups cranberry sorbet, vodka, triple sec, lime juice, and ice cubes in a blender until smooth. Pour cosmopolitan mixture into 4 martini glasses.
