Steps:
- In one bowl, sift the flour, baking soda and salt.
- In a second bowl, cream the butter with the sugars, vanilla and eggs.
- Slowly combine the flour mxture with the wet ingredients.
- Stir in the chips and strawberries.
- Refrigerate for an hour, or until dough is firm.
- Roll into one inch balls and place on greased, parchment-lined cookie sheets.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 13 minutes.

CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES
This is the simplest version of chocolate covered strawberries I know. Paraffin was originally used instead of shortening. Turn the strawberries upside down and insert by the toothpicks into a piece of styrofoam for easy cooling, or simply place them on a sheet of wax paper. White chocolate may be drizzled over the milk chocolate for a fancier look. They are perfect for weddings when decorated with frosting bow ties, bells, butterflies, roses, etc.

Steps:
- In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and shortening, stirring occasionally until smooth. Holding them by the toothpicks, dip the strawberries into the chocolate mixture.
- Insert toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries.
- Turn the strawberries upside down and insert the toothpick into styrofoam for the chocolate to cool.

- Place the butter, sugar, and brown sugar in the bowl of a stand or large mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed until incorporate. Increase speed to medium-high and beat until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, and the vanilla; mixing between each addition.
- Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Take two tablespoons of the flour mixture and toss it with the strawberries. Set aside.
- Add flour mixture to the butter mixture, one third a time, and stirring lightly between each addition.
