- Spread both sides of bread with butter. In a small skillet, toast bread over medium-high heat 2-3 minutes on each side, topping with chocolate chips after turning. Remove from heat; spread melted chocolate evenly over toast. If desired, top with fruit.

CHOCOLATE-HAZELNUT FRENCH TOAST WITH CINNAMON CEREAL

- Slice the brioche into 1 1/2-inch-thick slices (6 to 8 slices). Lay each slice on its side and cut a 2-inch slit into the bottom of each. Fill the slit with about 1 tablespoon of the chocolate-hazelnut spread.
- Whisk together the milk, vanilla, salt and eggs in a shallow bowl or baking dish. Place the crushed cereal in another baking dish. Dip a slice of the filled brioche into the egg mixture on both sides a few times, making sure the mixture has soaked in, then transfer to the cereal dish and coat with cereal on both sides. Place the bread on a cutting board or plate while finishing dredging the rest. Repeat with the remaining slices, egg mix and cereal.
- Heat a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat with 2 tablespoons of the butter. Place as many slices as will fit in the skillet. Cook on one side until the coating is crisp and golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes, then flip and cook another 2 to 3 minutes on the other side. Transfer to a platter. Add 2 more tablespoons of butter to the skillet and then more slices. Repeat the process with the remaining butter and slices, reserving 2 tablespoons of butter for the bananas.
- Add the remaining butter to the skillet, let it melt and place the bananas in a single layer in the melted butter. Cook until caramelized, 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Top the toast with the bananas and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Serve immediately.

- Preheat the broiler and set a rack close to the broiler.
- Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Put the bread on a sheet pan and toast the bread lightly on both sides under the broiler. When the bread is hot, spread each piece with 1 teaspoon butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar equally among the slices of toast. Top with equal quantities of the chocolate chips. Finally, lay 1/4 cup of the mini marshmallows on each slice.
- Place under the broiler and broil just until the marshmallows are golden brown, watching them so they don't burn, about 1 minute. Serve immediately.

- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Line 15x10x1-inch pan with heavy-duty foil. Spray foil with cooking spray. Spread cereal evenly in pan.
- In 2-quart saucepan, heat butter and brown sugar. Using whisk, mix butter and brown sugar together as butter melts. Heat to boiling over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium. Boil 2 minutes without stirring. Immediately pour mixture evenly over cereal in pan.
- Bake 12 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let stand 5 minutes. Spread melted chocolate; top with pecans. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Refrigerate 20 minutes to set chocolate; break into pieces. Store covered in refrigerator up to one week.

- Preheat oven to 350°F Grease two 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans and line bottom of pans with parchment paper.
- Chocolate Batter: in bowl of electric mixer, cream together butter and sugar with paddle attachment on medium speed, until light and creamy about 5 minutes.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating until each egg is completely incorporated before adding the next and scraping down sides of bowl several times.
- Meanwhile, in medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, cinnamon, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
- In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, water and vanilla.
- With mixer on low speed, alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk mixture to butter, beginning and ending with flour and beating just until blended.
- Divide batter between the two pans, shake pans to even tops and set aside.
- Cocoa Spice Sugar Crust: in another small bowl, whisk together sugar, cinnamon, cocoa, ginger and cloves.
- Sprinkle surfaces of both batters with decorating sugar.
- Sprinkle with cocoa sugar mixture, dividing evenly.
- Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 45 to 50 minutes.
- Let cool completely, run thin knife around sides to release breads and remove from pans.
