Beer Pretzel Burgers image

The alcohol in the beer cooks off in this recipe so you don't need to worry about serving it to little ones. The pretzels add a perfect texture along with the oniony flavor. This easy recipe has all the best tastes in a simple burger.

⅔ cup beer or tomato juice
½ cup crushed pretzels
2 to 4 Tablespoons finely chopped onions
2 Tablespoons pickle relish (optional)
½ teaspoon salt
2½ pounds lean ground beef
8 hamburger buns, split and toasted

Steps:

  • In large bowl mix beer, pretzels, onion, relish (optional), and salt.
  • Add ground beef; mix well.
  • Shape meat mixture into 8 thick patties.
  • Cook over medium heat on gas or charcoal grill.
  • Cook 14 to 18 minutes or until done (turning once half way through grilling).

1/2 cup crushed pretzel
2 tablespoons relish (dill)
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
8 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine beer, pretzel crumbs, relish, and salt. Mix in ground beef, blending well. Shape into 8 patties.
  • Grill over medium coals for 10-15 minutes or until desired doneness, turning halfway through. During last minute of grilling, toast the buns.
  • Serve burgers on toasted buns with ketchup, mustard, cheese, or whatever toppings you like!
