COPYCAT CHILI'S SALSA



Copycat Chili's Salsa image

After comparing other copycat Chili's salsa recipes and making a few tweaks, this copycat recipe is by far the closest to the original... and quite addictive.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 can Rotel Original Diced Tomtaoes & Green Chilies, (14.5-oz)
1 can whole tomatoes plus juice, (14.5-oz)
1 T canned diced jalapenos
1/4 cup diced yellow onion
1 tsp minced garlic
1 to 2 T chopped fresh cilantro, (optional)
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp sugar
1 T fresh lime juice

Steps:

  • Place jalapenos and onions in a food processor and pulse for a few seconds.
  • Add both cans of tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, salt, cumin, sugar and lime juice and process until well blended. Do NOT puree.
  • Cover and chill for at least 2 hours before serving. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips.

14.5 oz can tomatoes and green chilies
14.5 oz whole canned tomatoes (plus the juice)
4 tsp jalapenos (canned, diced, not pickled)
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic salt (with parsley flakes)
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp sugar
2 whole roma tomatoes

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in blender or food processor and blend until all combined.

This is our favorite way to make Chili's salsa recipe at home. We have experimented with it, and this is as close to their recipe as we have gotten. We love it.

1 15 oz can of whole peeled tomatoes
1 can of rotel tomatoes with green chilies
¼ jalapeno
⅓ small yellow onion
1 ½ t garlic salt
¾ t salt
1 garlic clove
½ t cumin
½ t sugar
1 lime

Steps:

  • Juice the lime
  • Add the jalapeno, onion and garlic to a food processor. Pulse for 10 seconds.
  • Add in all other ingredients and process to mix. Do not puree. It is OK to have a slightly chunky salsa.
  • Pour into a container with a lid and chill in the fridge.
  • Serve with your favorite tortilla chips.

1 (14.5-oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies, with juice
1 (14.5-oz) can whole tomatoes, with juice
1 small yellow onion, coarsely chopped
½ jalapeno pepper, coarsely chopped
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp salt
½ tsp cumin
¼ tsp sugar

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in food processor and pulse into well combined. Stir mixture, checking for any remaining large pieces. Pulse again if necessary. Transfer to a bowl or jar with lid. Chill, covered for at least 4 hours before serving. Serve with tortilla chips and limes if desired.

Two 10-ounce cans diced tomatoes and green chiles, such as Rotel
One 28-ounce can whole tomatoes with juice
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves (or more to taste!)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 whole jalapeno, quartered and sliced thin, with seeds and membrane
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/2 whole lime, juiced

Steps:

  • Combine the diced tomatoes, whole tomatoes, cilantro, onions, garlic, jalapeno, cumin, salt, sugar and lime juice in a blender or food processor. (This is a very large batch. I recommend using a 12-cup food processor, or you can process the ingredients in batches and then mix everything together in a large mixing bowl.)
  • Pulse until you get the salsa to the consistency you'd like. I do about 10 to 15 pulses. Test seasonings with a tortilla chip and adjust as needed.
  • Refrigerate the salsa for at least an hour before serving.

6 -7 slices jalapenos, diced and seeded
1 small onion, diced (about 1/2 cup)
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can Ro-Tel tomatoes (mild)
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes (do not drain)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon cilantro, finely chopped (fresh)

Steps:

  • Place jalapeños and onions in a food processor or blender and run on high speed for about 5-10 seconds until smooth.
  • Add the un-drained can of Ro-Tel tomatoes, canned tomatoes, garlic powder, salt, cumin, sugar and cilantro to food processor or blender.
  • Process by pulsing all ingredients in food processor or blender until thin and slightly chuck free, but not completely pureed.
  • Place in a covered container and chill for about an hour.
  • Serve with warm tortilla chips or as a Mexican style sauce for your favorite dish.
  • Makes about 2 cups.
