4 cups reduced-fat plain yogurt
1 cup frozen pitted dark sweet cherries, thawed and quartered
1/2 cup cherry juice
3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Line a strainer with four layers of cheesecloth or one coffee filter and place over a bowl. Place yogurt in prepared strainer; cover yogurt with edges of cheesecloth. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight., Remove yogurt from cheesecloth and discard liquid from bowl. Place yogurt in a small bowl; stir in the remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate until serving.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3 cups plain Greek yogurt
2 cups pitted, chopped fresh cherries

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mash the cream cheese with sugar until thoroughly combined; stir in the lemon juice, and mix in the yogurt, about a cup at a time, until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Mix in the cherries. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and chill until very cold, at least 4 hours.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream freezer, and freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. For firmer texture, pack the frozen yogurt into a covered container, and freeze for several hours.

I used a Kitchen Aid® ice cream attachment to make this frozen yogurt. I call it adult because it has liquor in the ingredients. I hope you enjoy this as much as my family does.

2 (15 ounce) cans pitted dark sweet cherries, drained
2 cups vanilla Greek yogurt
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
⅓ cup white sugar
½ cup half-and-half
½ cup milk
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger creme de cassis liqueur

Steps:

  • Pulse drained cherries in a food processor until chopped. Transfer to a large bowl. Add yogurt, evaporated milk, sugar, half-and-half, milk, and creme de cassis liqueur; mix well.
  • Pour into an electric mixer's ice cream attachment. Follow manufacturer's instructions and mix for 25 minutes on the 'stir' setting.
  • Pour the chilled mixture into a freeze-proof container and freeze until it reaches "soft-serve" consistency, about 2 hours. Transfer frozen yogurt to a one- or two-quart lidded plastic container; cover surface with plastic wrap and seal.

When you taste this you won't believe how easy it was to make. I use a 6 muffin, muffin tin to get a nice, large muffin.

1/2 cup margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups flour
1 cup plain yogurt
cherry pie filling

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In large bowl beat margarine until creamy.
  • Beat in sugar.
  • When pale and fluffy, add eggs.
  • Mix in baking powder,baking sada and almond extract.
  • Fold in 1 c flour.
  • Mix well by hand.
  • Stir in yogurt and 1c floru.
  • In greased muffin tin spoon heaping tbl batter.
  • To each muffin add 1tsp pie filling.
  • Cover with another heaping tbl batter.
  • Bake @ 350 degrees 25 minutes.
