White Sangria image

This sangria takes five to 10 minutes to assemble in a large pitcher. Take the time to prepare it in the morning so the sangria has several hours to develop its fruity flavor. Pull it out when dinner is ready to serve that evening.

3 tablespoons sugar
3 shots Calvados or other apple liquor
1 lime, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
2 ripe peaches, cut into wedges
3 ripe green apples seeded and cut into wedges
1 bottle white Rioja Spanish wine or other dry white wine
1 pint raspberries
Sparkling soda water, for topping off glasses of sangria at table

Steps:

  • Combine sugar, Calvados, lime, lemon, peaches and apples in a large pitcher. Cover with 1 bottle of Rioja wine and chill sangria several hours. To serve, spoon fruits into glasses or goblets, adding a few fresh raspberries in each glass, pour wine over top of the fruit. Top glasses of sangria off with a splash of soda water and serve.

  • Stir white wine, rum, orange juice, and sugar together in a large pitcher until the sugar is dissolved; add apple, lemon, and lime slices. Gently stir lemon-lime soda into the wine mixture.
  • Put frozen grapes into serving glasses and pour sangria over the grapes.

1/2 cup superfine sugar 

6 slices (1/8 inch thick) peeled fresh ginger
4 ounces vodka
10 ounces cherries, pitted and halved (2 cups)
3 nectarines, pitted and sliced 1/2 inch thick
2 bottles (750 mL each) dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc, chilled
Ice

Steps:

  • Combine sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small pot. Bring to a boil, and stir until sugar dissolves. Remove syrup from heat, and let cool.
  • Combine syrup and ginger, and muddle. Add vodka, cherries, and nectarines. Let macerate at least 3 hours at room temperature or up to 8 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Add wine, and stir. Serve over ice.

1 (6 ounce) container frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
1 (6 ounce) container frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 (6 ounce) container frozen cranberry juice concentrate, thawed
4 cups dry red wine, i usually use chianti
2 cups cold water
18 maraschino cherries
1 lime, washed and thinly sliced do not remove peel
1 lemon, washed and thinly sliced do not remove peel
1 orange, washed and thinly sliced do not remove peel
ice cube

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher combine limeade, lemonade, and cranberry juice concentrates.
  • If you double the recipe you can use a punch bowl or 2 large pitchers.
  • Add the wine and water.
  • Stir well until combined At this point if you are not serving, do not add ice cubes or fruit, refrigerate.
  • Just before serving add fruit and ice cubes.
