4 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup dried cherries
1/2 cup sunflower kernels

Steps:

  • Spread oats into an ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned. Meanwhile, spread almonds and coconut into another ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly toasted., In a Dutch oven over medium heat, bring sugar and corn syrup to a boil. Cook and stir for 2-3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat; stir in peanut butter until combined. Add the raisins, cherries, sunflower kernels, and toasted oats, almonds and coconut., Using a metal spatula, press mixture into an ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Cool to room temperature. Cut into bars.

For all the cobbler and crisp lovers, here's a simple dish that you can eat for breakfast or dessert. Chewy clusters of almonds and oats brown in the oven after getting coated in a nutty and floral browned-butter honey syrup. While the granola clusters caramelize, the bed of sweet cherries they rest over turns tender and juicy. Warm out of the oven, this crisp belongs in a bowl with your favorite yogurt, some of the warm cherry sauce drizzled over top, and maybe even a good shaving of dark chocolate or orange zest, if you have some.

1/2 pound/225 grams sweet cherries, halved and pitted (about 1 1/4 packed cups)
1/3 cup/115 milliliters honey
4 tablespoons/60 grams unsalted butter (1/2 stick)
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup/100 grams sliced almonds
1/2 cup/50 grams rolled oats
Yogurt, for serving

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spread out the cherry halves in the bottom of an 8-inch square (or 9-inch round) baking dish. Set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, add the honey, butter and salt. Bring to a foaming boil over medium heat, then cook 3 to 4 minutes until the honey thickens, stirring often so it never burns. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla - it will spatter slightly - then fold in the almonds and oats, continuing to stir until the oats absorb all the honey syrup.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the mixture across the cherries, and bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until the almonds are almost a mahogany brown and the cherries are tender and juicy. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes, so the granola hardens slightly, then serve with yogurt.

1 cup puffed rice cereal
1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup dried tart cherries
⅔ cup honey
½ cup creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup mini semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with a piece of parchment paper that is large enough to go up all sides of the pan.
  • Combine oats, rice cereal, coconut, almonds, and cherries in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  • Combine honey, peanut butter, brown sugar, coconut oil, vanilla extract, and salt in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until brown sugar is melted; continue to simmer for 1 minute more. Pour heated mixture into the dry ingredients and stir to fully combine. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Pour granola into the prepared baking pan and press firmly with a nonstick spatula or lightly oiled hands to tightly compact and distribute evenly throughout.
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Remove from the refrigerator and slice into 20 equal portions. Tightly wrap individually in plastic wrap or serve immediately.

1 cup slivered almonds
Fat-free vanilla yogurt, optional

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine the brown sugar, milk powder, honey, apple juice concentrate and oil. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved; stir in extract. 3 cups rolled oats (not quick-cooking)
1 cup raw almonds
1/4 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1/3 cup agave nectar
1 tablespoon finely grated lime zest (packed)
1/4 cup lime juice
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
1 cup dried tart cherries or dried cranberries

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a large bowl, combine oats and almonds. In a small saucepan, combine butter, agave nectar, lime zest and juice, and salt over medium. Cook, stirring occasionally, until butter melts, about 2 minutes. (Or, place ingredients in a medium microwave-safe bowl and microwave until butter melts, 1 to 2 minutes; stir until combined.) Pour butter mixture over oat mixture and toss until oats and nuts are completely coated. Transfer to a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet and spread in an even layer. Bake until oats are lightly golden, 30 to 35 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Let cool completely on sheet on a wire rack, 20 minutes, then stir in cherries or cranberries.

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
3/4 cup dried sour cherries

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Line 2 rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. Toss the oats, coconut, pistachios, pepitas and salt in a large bowl. Warm the brown sugar, maple syrup and olive oil in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Fold the sugar mixture into the oat mixture to evenly coat.
  • Spread the granola on the prepared baking sheets and bake, stirring often, until dry and lightly golden, 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and toss with the dried sour cherries. Let cool to room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 1 month.

2 cups sweetened, shredded coconut
2 cups sliced almonds
1 1/2 cups dried cherries, chopped
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup good honey
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Toss the oats, coconut, almonds, and cherries together in a large bowl. Pour the vegetable oil and honey over the oat mixture. Add the cinnamon, and stir with a wooden spoon until all the oats and nuts are coated with the liquids. Pour onto a sheet pan. Bake, stirring occasionally with a spatula, until the mixture turns a nice, even golden brown, about 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Remove the granola from the oven and allow to cool, stirring occasionally. Store the cooled granola in an airtight container.

3 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup whole almonds, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup dried cherries
1/4 cup dried currants

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together apple juice, honey, brown sugar, canola oil, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until combined. Add oats, almonds, and pecan; toss until mixture is well combined and evenly moistened. Divide mixture between 2 baking sheets and transfer to oven. Bake, shaking pans occasionally, until light golden brown, 15 to 18 minutes.
  • Transfer warm granola to a large bowl and stir in cherries and currants. Let cool completely; store in an airtight container up to 1 week.

1/2 cup butter
8 ounces cream cheese, cut into cubes
1 (12 ounce) jar cherry preserves
1 -1 1/2 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
4 eggs
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup milk
1 cup granola cereal
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray 13 x 9 pan with cooking spray.
  • After cooking and draining egg noodles, put noodles back in cooking pot over low heat.
  • Mix in 1/2 cup of butter and cream cheese until melted.
  • Beat eggs and milk together and pour into noodle mixture.
  • Add cinnamon, cherries and cherry preserves.
  • Pour into 13 x 9 pan.
  • Mix together granola, butter and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  • Sprinkle over noodles.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
