Ingredients

1 3/4 cups oatmeal
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup margarine, melted
1 cup nuts, chopped
1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips (1 cup)
1 (14 ounce) bag vanilla caramels
1/4 cup water

Steps:

Heat oven to 350°F Grease 9x13 pan.
Combine first 5 ingredients.
Add margarine and mix until crumbly.Reserve 1 C of mixture for topping.
Press remaining mixture onto bottom of prepared pan.
Bake 10 minutes. Cool.
Top with nuts, then chocolate chips.
In medium saucepan, melt caramels with the water over low heat. Stir until Smooth.
Remove from heat.
Drizzle caramel over chocolate pcs to within 1/4" of pan edge.
Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture.
Continue baking 15-18 minutes. Cool.
Chil until chocolate is set. Cut into bars.

1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups quick or old-fashion oats, uncooked
1 package Kraft Caramel Bits

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Fold in oats and caramel bits.
Drop by rounded Tablespoons onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

Every time I make these delectable bars, I always get asked for the recipe. The creamy caramel ice cream topping in the middle makes these tasty treats, more than wonderful.

1-3/4 c quick or old fashioned oats
1-3/4 c all purpose flour, divided
3/4 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt, optional
3/4 c butter or margarine, melted
2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c chopped nuts
1 c caramel ice cream topping

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease bottom of 9" X 13" X 2" baking dish. Preheat oven to 350. Grease bottom of 9" X 13" X 2" baking dish.
2. Combine oats, 1-1/2 c. flour, brown sugar, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Stir in butter; mix well. Reserve 1 c. oat mixture; press remaining oat mixture onto bottom of prepared pan. Bake 12 - 15 minutes or until brown. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
3. Mix caramel topping with remaining flour in small bowl; drizzle over nuts to within 1/4" of pan edges. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. Bake 18 - 20 minutes longer or until golden brown.
4. Cool in pan on wire rack; refrigerate until firm. Setting them out at room temperature for a few minutes prior to cutting them makes for an easier job.
