Fun to make and eat! A great protein-filled nutritious snack for kids. Easy to make; fun for the kids to help. My 5 y/o loves them. This recipe is courtesy of Better Homes and Gardens "Kids Snacks" cookbook, 1985. ***Do not feed honey to anyone under the age of 1 years old, due to the possibility of an allergic reaction.

1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tablespoon honey
1/3 cup non-fat powdered milk
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons toasted wheat germ
unsweetened cocoa powder, for toothpick coating
76 almonds, sliced thin

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, mix peanut butter and honey.
  • Stir in dry milk powder, sesame seed and wheat germ; mix well.
  • Lay wax paper on a cookie sheet.
  • Using a teaspoon, shape and scoop up 1 tsp of peanut butter mixture into oval shapes, to look like bees.; place on cookie sheet.
  • Dip a toothpick into cocoa; press gently across bees to make the stripes.
  • Stick 2 almonds slices into each side, for wings.
  • Chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes.

1 SNICKERS® Brand Crème Sports Eggs 3-Pack
12 pieces M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies
1 tube decorative yellow icing
Yellow construction paper

Steps:

  • 1. Cut 6 hearts from the construction paper for the bumble bee's wings.
  • 2. Unwrap the SNICKERS® Brand Crème Sports Eggs and place both halves flat on a counter.
  • 3. With the decorative icing, pipe lines over the eggs. Dot the lines with the M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies.
  • 4. Dot each wing with icing, and then press it underneath an egg, with one wing on either side of each egg.

  • This is a layered shot.
  • First pour the Bailey's into the shot glass.
  • Then take an upside down spoon and touch it to the inside wall of the glass.
  • Carefully add the Kahlua.
  • Repeat this process for the Sambuca.
  • If done properly, the alcohol will stay separated and resemble a bumble bee.
