Homemade Waffles image

Today's waffle recipe teaches you how to make perfect fluffy Homemade Waffles in your own kitchen. Make sure to have the maple syrup handy!

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat waffle griddle.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. This can also be stored and made ahead for later.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and whisk until combined. Let sit for several minutes while iron heats up.
  • Spray waffle iron with baking spray before the FIRST batch only. Ladle into preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown. For the "DASH" brand, this will be about 3- 3 1/2 minutes each.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Basic mix:
5 # flour
3 T salt
1/2 C sugar
2 T cream of tartar
2 1/2 C dried milk
3/4 C double action baking powder
2 # vegetable shorting
Waffles:
1 egg
1 1/2 C water

Steps:

  • Combine all dry ingredients and cut in the shorting. Seal up in an air tight container at room temp until ready for use. When your ready to prepare waffle, add 3 C of the mix and blend with an egg and 1 1/2 C water and use as with any other commercial mix.
