1 lb brussels sprouts, halved
4 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
¼ cup bread crumbs
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Remove the stem from each sprout and cut in half. Place the brussels sprouts in a large bowl.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl and toss to cover.
  • Spread the sprouts onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake in a 400˚F (200˚C) oven for 20 minutes.
  • Flip the sprouts, then bake for an additional 20 minutes or until the sprouts are fork-tender and golden.
  • Enjoy!

1 pint brussels sprouts (about a pound)
4 to 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, to coat bottom of pan
5 cloves garlic, peeled
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees. Trim bottom of brussels sprouts, and slice each in half top to bottom. Heat oil in cast-iron pan over medium-high heat until it shimmers; put sprouts cut side down in one layer in pan. Put in garlic, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Cook, undisturbed, until sprouts begin to brown on bottom, and transfer to oven. Roast, shaking pan every 5 minutes, until sprouts are quite brown and tender, about 10 to 20 minutes.
  • Taste, and add more salt and pepper if necessary. Stir in balsamic vinegar, and serve hot or warm.

1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts (trimmed and halved)
4 cloves garlic (very roughly chopped (leave the pieces a bit chunky; add more if you live in a house of garlic lovers))
1 ½ tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons freshly ground or grated parmesan
Any of the optional additions from the blog post above: lemon, balsamic vinegar, herbs, red pepper flakes, etc.

Steps:

  • Place a rack in the upper third of your oven and preheat the oven to 400 degrees Place the Brussels sprouts and garlic in the center of a large rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle with the olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any other desired spice additions. Gently mix until the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated, then spread them into a single layer on the baking sheet. For even better crisping, flip the Brussels sprouts so that they are all cut sides down.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and stir in the parmesan cheese. Continue baking 10 to 20 additional minutes, until the Brussels sprouts are lightly charred and crisp on the outside and tender in the center. The outer leaves will be very dark too. Watch carefully towards the end of the baking time, as the cooking time will vary based on the size of your sprouts. Remove from the oven. Season with additional salt and/or pepper to taste. A zingy fun combination of flavors.

24 Brussels sprouts
1 tablespoon butter
1/2-1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
salt

Steps:

  • Wash and trim brussels sprouts. Cut each in half. Place sprouts in a bowl with a teaspoon of water and cover with plastic wrap (leave little hole at along edge of seal for air to escape).
  • Cook in microwave on high for 2-3 minutes depends on how tender you like your sprouts. They will cook a little more in the next step but not much.
  • Melt butter in skillet over medium high heat to high heat. (Might need more or less butter depending on the overall size of your sprouts). You can use something other than butter, but I do love the flavor of browned melt on the sprouts. I know it's bad for me!
  • Add sprouts - cook over medium high to high heat (stirring ever so often)till the sprouts start to get brown.
  • Once sprouts have the color of brown you like, add salt and pepper and lime juice to taste I suggest trying a half of teaspoon of lime and if you'd like more than add more. Be careful not to add too much right off the bat because the lime will overpower the sprouts.

Steps:

  • Pan-fry bacon, set aside.Then, use bacon grease to pan-fry brussels sprouts and set aside.
  • Set Instant Pot to sautè, add oil, onions, jalepeños, and garlic. Sautè until onions are clear. Add carrots and potatoes and stir until well mixed. Add brussels sprouts, red beans, white corn, whiskey, chicken broth, and seasonings. Stir until well-mixed.
  • Pressure Cook on high for 10-15 minutes. When done, release pressure, wait until completed.

7 TASTY WAYS TO COOK BRUSSELS SPROUTS

  • CHEESY SPROUT AND CHORIZO GRATIN. Trim 500g of sprouts and boil for four minutes. Preheat an oven to 190°C/Fan 170°C/Gas 5 and roast for 15 minutes, until starting to crisp.
  • SPROUT RISOTTO. Add 30g butter and 2 tbsp rapeseed oil to a large frying pan over a medium-high heat. When the butter has melted, add 2 chopped onions and fry for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and lightly caramelised.
  • FESTIVE SLAW. Place 50g crushed pecans and 50g crushed walnuts in a small frying pan and dry fry for 4-5 minutes until lightly browned. Meanwhile, grate 500g Brussels sprouts using a grater or a mandolin and finely slice three celery sticks and 2 carrots.
  • BRUSSELS SPROUT TART. Preheat your oven to 190°C/Fan 170°C/Gas 5. Shave 300g brussels sprouts, place on a baking tray drizzled with oil, and bake for 5 minutes, until beginning to brown.
  • SPROUT PESTO. Blitz together 50g pine nuts, 50g Brussels sprouts, two large handfuls of basil, 50g Cheddar, 150ml rapeseed oil and 2 garlic cloves in a food processor and serve with your favourite pasta.
  • MASALA FRITTATA. Preheat the grill. Beat 8 free-range eggs and season with 1 tsp each ground coriander, chilli powder and garam masala. Add a generous drizzle of rapeseed oil to a pan and fry 2tbsp of cumin seed until they sizzle.
  • ZINGY BUBBLE & SQUEAK. Fry 3 chopped shallots in a glug of rapeseed oil along with a thumb-size piece of finely chopped ginger. Add a splash of balsamic vinegar, 3 chopped rashers of bacon, 200g thinly chopped Brussels sprouts and 100g potatoes, finely sliced.
