Time 55m

Yield 8-10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 20

1 14-ounce can whole tomatoes
1 10-ounce can diced tomatoes and green chiles
1 10-ounce can diced tomatoes and green chiles
1/4 cup fresh cilantro (or more to taste)
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1 small clove garlic, minced
1/2 jalapeno pepper, thinly sliced
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Kosher salt
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 pound thick-cut peppered bacon
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, plus more for the baking sheet
2 cups frozen hash browns
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 pound store-bought pizza dough, thawed if frozen
12 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
8 large eggs
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Make the salsa: Combine the whole tomatoes with their juices, diced tomatoes, cilantro, onion, garlic, jalapeno, sugar, cumin, 1/4 teaspoon salt and the lime juice in a food processor or blender. Pulse several times until it reaches the consistency you like. Set aside.
  • Prepare the pizza: Place the oven rack in the lowest position and preheat to 475 degrees F. Fry the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, turning occasionally, until chewy, about 8 minutes; drain on paper towels. Chop into bite-size pieces.
  • Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a separate large skillet over medium-high heat; add the frozen hash browns and cook, stirring occasionally, until they just start turning golden brown, about 7 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside. In the same skillet, fry the red and green peppers in the remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil over
  • medium-high heat until they're nice and brown, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Spread 1/2 cup salsa over the dough, then evenly distribute the sliced mozzarella over the salsa. Sprinkle with the hash browns, bell peppers and bacon.
  • Next comes the fun part! Make 8 little wells in the filling here and there all over the surface of the pizza; crack the eggs into the wells. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Bake until the crust is golden brown and the eggs are set but still slightly soft, about 15 minutes. Cut into large pieces and serve with the remaining salsa.

AMAZING BREAKFAST PIZZA

Amazing Breakfast Pizza image

I used to make this when I worked for a gas station/pizza place so I could sell it by the slice to the early morning rush. I would end up selling more for breakfast than lunch at times!

Provided by mamaXmama

Categories     Breakfast

Time 35m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

pizza dough
2 -3 eggs (depending on your taste)
1/4 cup milk
6 ounces shredded yellow cheddar cheese
6 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
3 ounces deli ham, sliced into 2 inch strips
3 ounces cooked bacon, crumbled
5 breakfast sausage links, chunked
1/4 minced onion (optional)
chopped chives (for garnish)

Steps:

  • This recipe is a lot quicker if you precook your Bacon and Sausage the night before and store them in your refrigerator as I do -- the prep time will be based on this.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F
  • For the Pizza Dough, if you can find it frozen, uncooked, and preshaped. it's a huge time saver. If not, just prepare it as you would normally on a large pizza pan (I make the crust about 1/4 thick). Excluding the 1 1/2 of the outer crust, make little indentations with your fingertips in the dough. This helps the egg settle and cook more evenly.
  • Beat the eggs with the milk, and pour over the center of the crust. Use your fingers, or a pastry brush to evenly disperse the egg.
  • Evenly cover the egg with the strips of ham.
  • Scatter the sausages, and if you want to have them, add the onion. Salt and pepper it lightly.
  • Add a blanket of the Mozzarella cheese, then the Cheddar.
  • Sprinkle the crumbled bacon.
  • Put this wonderful pie in the oven on the center rack and check it after 15 minutes. It's hard for me to give an approximate cooking time as I used a ride through oven for 7 minutes at 475°F at my work. If it looks done, then it is. The egg layer is thin enough to cook in 10 minutes or so, so it's really just about the crust and how you like it.
  • Once you've deemed it to be done, take it out of your oven and garnish it with some chopped chives. Slice, and enjoy! It's great on the go, and is wonderful hot or cold. I'm hoping this recipe will make your household as happy as it made my customers :).

BREAKFAST PIZZA - DELICIOUS!

Breakfast Pizza - Delicious! image

I thick hardy breakfast pizza, slathered with a home made breakfast pizza sauce and lots of sausage, bacon and cheese! YUMMY!

Provided by rwbrahm

Categories     Breakfast

Time 35m

Yield 1 Breakfast Pizza, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 cups milk
3 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons butter
4 ounces cream cheese
1 lb bacon
4 ounces turkey sausage
8 eggs
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder (1/2 tbsp for the sauce, 1/2 tbsp for the crust and 1/2 tbsp for the eggs)
1 tablespoon onion powder (1/2 for the sauce and 1/2 for the eggs)
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (1/2 for the sauce and 1/2 for the eggs)
1 tablespoon black pepper (1/2 for the sauce and 1/2 for the eggs)
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 lb pizza dough
4 ounces monterey jack pepper cheese
4 ounces monterey jack cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to recommended pizza crust cooking temperature.
  • Shred your cheese(if you bought blocks).
  • Start cooking your bacon.
  • Now we start on the pizza sauce . Grab your butter and start melting it in a large non stick pan on medium/low heat(we don't want to burn the butter). As soon as the butter is nice and melted SLOWLY! add and whisk in the flour a little bit at a time. It should never clump up and be lumpy. It should always be smooth and bubbly.
  • Once all the flour is in the mix add your milk and spices.
  • Once the sauce is back up to boiling go ahead and add your cream cheese. Let the cream cheese just melt into the sauce while slowly stirring it. Once its blended set it on a back burner on low heat.
  • Now we make the eggs.
  • Crack all of your eggs into a bowl and add in your spices. Whisk FURIOUSLY! until they are nice and airy(only about 30 seconds of whisking for me).
  • Melt a 1/2 tbsp of butter to the bottom of a nonstick pan and add your eggs. I have a pattern to my eggs follow it if you wish. I do not stir eggs. I scrape the pan in an orderly fashion starting from the center out in both directions. Once the eggs are still a little runny I pile them in the middle of the pan and turn the heat off. They finish on their own.
  • Now that all of the main ingredients are done all that's left is putting them on your crust.
  • Take the pizza crust out and put it on a baking sheet.(I put aluminum foil down and spray it with Pam for ease of removing the pizza later).
  • Now put as much sauce as you prefer on your dough(I like my pizza SAUCY!).
  • Next add your cheese. Add roughly 3/4 of the cheese on now. Sprinkled evenly from edge to edge.
  • Next take your bacon and crumble it up and spread it evenly over the pizza.(I pull the fat off my bacon, to each his/her own).
  • Now sprinkle on your turkey sausage crumbles.
  • Now add your eggs.
  • And the last of the cheese!
  • Now take that remaining 1/2 tbsp of garlic powder and mix it with the 4 tbsp of olive oil. Add this to the "crust" of the pizza.
  • Now pop it in the oven!

BREAKFAST PIZZA: PIZZA A COLAZIONE

Breakfast Pizza: Pizza A Colazione image

D: One day friends were coming over for lunch, so we got the wood-fired pizza oven started. Earlier that day, when we were still in our bathrobes, you had this idea. G: The oven was hot, we were hungry, we had fresh eggs from our chickens, and the pizza dough was already made. So the thought of a breakfast pizza materialized. D: The concept is simple and inspired: eggs and bacon-in this case, pancetta-but on a tomato-and-cheese pizza. It was so delicious. G: It's so much fun to crack that egg over the pizza and let the heat of the oven cook it. It works just as well in a kitchen oven. So the next time a weekend rolls around, skip the same-old breakfast, and try this variation.

Provided by Food Network

Time 4h30m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 (1/4-ounce) envelope active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
1/2 cup lukewarm water (approximately 80 degrees F)
4 cups bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, plus more for greasing
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1 cup canned whole peeled tomatoes (pelati)
Kosher salt
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/4 pound pancetta, diced medium
1/2 pound mozzarella cheese, shredded
4 large eggs
1 handful fresh basil leaves

Steps:

  • For the pizza dough: In a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine the yeast, lukewarm water, and 1/2 cup of the bread flour. Mix well and let it sit for 30 minutes, or until bubbly, like foamy beer. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the remaining 3 1/2 cups bread flour and the salt until evenly combined.
  • Add 3/4 cup cold water and the olive oil to the yeast mixture. Turn on the mixer and begin adding the flour mixture in increments, then mix for 5 minutes, until the dough starts creeping up the dough hook and detaching from the sides of the bowl.
  • Grease a large bowl with oil and transfer the dough to the bowl. Turn the dough to coat its surface with oil. Cover the bowl loosely with a tea towel. Let the dough rise until doubled in size, about 2 hours. Punch the dough down, then let rise another 1 hour.
  • Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and form into discs. On a work surface lightly dusted with flour, use your fingers or the heel of your hand (and a rolling pin, if you prefer) to stretch the discs until they're 13 inches in diameter. The disc should be very thin, less than 1/8 inch.
  • For the pizza: Place a pizza stone in the oven and preheat to 500 degrees F for 1 hour before baking. (Or preheat a wood-fired pizza oven to very hot, 4 hours before baking.)
  • In a food processor, puree the tomatoes until smooth. Season with salt to taste.
  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil and pancetta over medium heat and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until crisp.
  • Using a spoon, spread one-fourth of the pureed tomatoes on 1 disc of dough, leaving a 1-inch border all around. Sprinkle one-fourth of the mozzarella on top. Gently place the pizza on the pizza stone and bake for about 5 minutes, until golden with slight signs of charring. (If using a wood-fired oven, gently place the pizza on the oven floor, and bake for 3 minutes, or until golden and crisp.)
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and break an egg over the center of the pizza. Top with one-fourth of the cooked pancetta, return the pizza to the oven, and bake another 3 to 4 minutes (1 to 2 minutes if using a wood-fired oven), until the egg is cooked.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven, transfer to a cutting board, and top with one-fourth of the basil. Serve immediately. Repeat with the remaining 3 pizza discs. IMPORTANTE! If you're making pizza within the hour after forming the pizza dough discs, they can be kept at room temperature. Otherwise, place them on a baking sheet, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for up to 12 hours before baking, as long as the dough doesn't rise too much, because acidity will creep in and the flavor will sour. Ideally, though, you should make the pizzas the same day you make the dough.

Time 1h35m

Yield 2 servings

Number Of Ingredients 19

1 -ounce (30 grams) fresh yeast or 3 (7 gram) sachets dried yeast
1 -ounce (30 grams) honey or sugar
1 pint (625 ml) tepid water
1 pound 2 ounces (500 grams) strong bread flour, plus extra, for dusting
1 pound 2 ounces (500 grams) semolina
1 -ounce (30 grams) salt
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (14-ounce) (400 gram) tin Italian plum tomatoes
1 handful fresh basil, roughly chopped
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 field mushrooms
1 black pudding
5 slices back bacon
2 sausages
2 tomatoes, quartered
Extra-virgin olive oil
4 ounces (115 gram) buffalo mozzarella
3 or 4 organic eggs

Steps:

  • To make the bread dough, first dissolve the yeast and sugar in 1/2 of the tepid water. Put the flour and semolina into a large bowl or on a clean surface, make a well in the centre, and pour in the yeast mixture. Mix together until all the yeasty liquid is soaked up, then pour in the rest of the water and gradually incorporate all the flour to make a moist dough. Knead the dough by rolling, pushing and folding it over for 5 minutes. Flour both hands, and lightly flour the top of the dough. Make it into a roundish shape and place it on a baking tray. Score it deeply with a knife, allowing it to relax and proof with ease until it's doubled in size. Ideally you want a warm, moist, draught-free place to get the wickedest proof.
  • To make the tomato sauce, gently fry the garlic with the olive oil, then add the tomatoes. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 10 minutes, add the basil and season well to taste.
  • When the dough has doubled in size, knock the air back by bashing it around for 1 minute.
  • Now it is time to roll out your pizza into an irregular thin shape, and put it on a large baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F/200 Gas Mark 6.
  • Tear up the mushrooms, black pudding and bacon and put them in a bowl. Break up the sausages into little rounds like meatballs, and add to the bowl with the tomato. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the pizza and scatter over your topping ingredients evenly. Tear the mozzarella over the top, then bake in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes. When the bacon looks crispy, crack on the eggs and put back in the oven until they're cooked.

  • Spread the pizza crust into the pan. Stretch it out to all the edges. Brush olive oil evenly on top of the crust. Poke the crust really well with a fork (this will keep it from puffing up too much.)
  • Bake the crust for about 7 minutes on a middle rack. It should just start to be getting very light brown in color.
  • While crust is baking, start making the scrambled eggs. In a medium-sized bowl, add eggs, salt, pepper and milk. Whisk eggs really well for at least 2 minutes to combine.

  • To make the pizza base, put the flour in a large bowl (or stand mixer) and sprinkle in the yeast. Stir thoroughly before adding the salt. Mix the olive oil with the water, then make a well in the centre of the flour and start pouring it in.
  • Leave to rise for an hour in a large bowl, covered, then knock back and divide into two large or 4 smaller pieces, depending on the size you are able to cook.
  • When you are ready to cook the pizzas, preheat the oven to its highest setting and either heat baking trays or a pizza stone. Shape the pizzas into large circles, then dust more baking trays with flour and transfer the pizza bases onto them – this is so you can slide them straight onto the baking tray or pizza stone.
  • Make the tomato sauce simply by blending all the tomato sauce ingredients together in a food processor with plenty of salt and pepper.
  • Spread a small amount of the tomato sauce over the pizza base, then top with the pieces of sausage, bacon, black pudding (if using), mushrooms and tomatoes.
  • Break an egg or two on top, making sure that the eggs are contained by other ingredients so that the white doesn’t run off (alternatively you can turn up the edges slightly just to make sure).
  • Bake in the oven for around 8–10 minutes, or until the pizza is crisp and the toppings are cooked.

  • Sprinkle dough circles evenly with mozzarella, pecorino, and mushrooms, leaving a 1/2-inch border for the crust. Sprinkle pizzas with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper to taste. Bake in preheated oven until crusts are puffed and starting to brown, 7 to 9 minutes.
  • Remove pizzas from oven. Using the back of a spoon, make a small well in center of each pizza. Crack 1 egg into each well. Return pizzas to oven, rotating pans between top and bottom racks from previous bake. Bake at 450°F until egg whites are set but yolks are still runny, 5 to 7 minutes. Serve with basil oil.

  • Heat oven to 450°F. Cook bacon in a 10-inch ovenproof skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium heat until crisp, 12 to 15 minutes. Remove bacon from pan, then add the spinach and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the spinach wilts, 4 minutes. Set mixture aside and wipe out skillet.
  • Sprinkle cornmeal into skillet. Add dough, pressing it gently until it covers the bottom and reaches 1 inch up the sides of the skillet. Place over medium heat and cook for 8 minutes, until the bottom of the dough begins to brown. As the dough cooks, top with reserved bacon, spinach mixture, eggs, and fontina.
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake on bottom rack until the crust is golden, eggs are set, and cheese begins to brown, 10-15 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
