Categories     Other Breakfast

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 can(s) refrigerated crescent rolls
1/2 can(s) fruit pie filling-any flavor
3 oz cream cheese/neufchatel
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract divided use
1-2 Tbsp milk or cream
1/4 c powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. PREP DOUGH: Unroll crescent dough onto parchment paper lined baking sheet. Do not separate but pinch seams together to form a rectangle. Cut 1/2" "arms" along both sides approximately 1 1/2" inwards.
  • 2. FILLING: Mix softened cream cheese with sugar and 1/4 tsp vanilla. Spread cream cheese filling down center, and then spoon a thin line of pie filling down the center of the cheese. Gently pull dough strips from each side up and over top of filling, just crossing in the middle. At the ends fold the strips upward a bit to seal ends.
  • 3. BAKE: @ 375 for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and cooked through. GLAZE: Mix the powdered sugar and cream/milk and 1/4 tsp vanilla to form the glaze. Drizzle back and forth over warm danish. Cut and serve.

BREAKFAST FRUIT CRESCENT ROLL DANISH

Breakfast Fruit Crescent Roll Danish image

This recipe is a timesaver for a quick breakfast. You can used any kind of berries you like!

Provided by Emporess J @Emporess

Number Of Ingredients 11

DANISH
2 can(s) 10 oz - pillsbury original crescents
2 package(s) 8 oz - philadelphia cream cheese
1/2 cup(s) granulated sugar
2 - large eggs, yolks and whites separated
1 1/2 cup(s) frozen fruit (blackberries, blueberries, etc.)
1 - zest of lemon , very finely grated
GLAZE
1 cup(s) powdered sugar
1 tablespoon(s) milk
tablespoon(s) butter, softened

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9″ x 13″ baking dish with cooking spray. Open 1 can of Pillsbury Original Crescents carefully, so as not to tear the rolls apart. Once the dough is out of the can, find the seam that goes straight across the dough and begin rolling the dough out in one continuous rectangle. Line the bottom of the casserole dish with the sheet of crescent dough and pinch the perforated seams together. Use your fingers to make sure that the dough is evenly covering the bottom of the dish. In a medium bowl, stir together the Philadelphia Cream Cheese, sugar, 2 egg yolks and lemon zest until no lumps of cream cheese remain. Spoon the cream cheese mixture on top of the crescent dough and spread to cover the dough evenly. Add the frozen fruit on top of the cream cheese, spreading the pieces out evenly. You don't need the fruit to completely cover the cream cheese-just a few pieces of fruit here and there will do. Remove the next sheet of crescent dough from the can in the same manner as the first sheet. Lay the sheet of dough across the fruit and cream cheese and completely cover the top of the filling. Pinch any of the perforated seams together to form one complete top crust for the Danish. Brush the top of the Danish lightly with the reserved egg whites and bake 30 minutes or until the top crust is a nice golden brown color. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely before glazing and slicing. To make the glaze, combine the 3 ingredients and stir until there are absolutely no lumps. If you find the glaze to be too thick, add milk a drop at a time until you achieve the proper consistency. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled Danish and slice into squares.

SUNNY'S EASY RASPBERRY AND STRAWBERRY DANISHES

Sunny's Easy Raspberry and Strawberry Danishes image

Provided by Sunny Anderson

Categories     main-dish

Time 30m

Yield 8 danishes

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 cup freeze-dried raspberries
1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberry slices
Nonstick cooking spray, for the baking dish
One 8-ounce tube refrigerated crescent dough sheet
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 tablespoons salted butter, chilled
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
Kosher salt
1 to 2 teaspoons liquid, such as milk, heavy cream, almond milk, orange juice or lemon juice

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • For the fruit: Using a mortar and pestle, mini food processor or a sealed plastic bag and a mallet or rolling pin, crush the freeze-dried raspberries and strawberries together to a powder; some little pebbles are ok. Set aside 2 tablespoons for the icing and garnish.
  • For the dough: Spray the bottom and sides of an 8-inch square baking dish or 8- or 9-inch round pie pan with cooking spray.
  • Unroll the crescent dough out on a sheet of parchment paper. If using dough with perforations, gently pinch the seams to keep them together. Leaving about a 1-inch border on one of the short sides, sprinkle with the remaining fruit mixture, followed by a layer of the granulated sugar and then the brown sugar. Use a box grater or rasp and grate the butter evenly over the top. Starting with the short edge with the filling on it, roll, tucking as you go, towards the short edge with the empty border. Cut into 8 equal rounds and place in the prepared dish. Bake until the tops are golden, 13 to 14 minutes.
  • For the icing: While the danishes are baking, in a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners' sugar, 1 tablespoon of the reserved fruit mixture, a pinch of salt and 1 teaspoon of preferred liquid. The icing should be thick like a glaze, but thin enough to pour. If needed, add more liquid.
  • Drizzle the icing over the warm danishes. Transfer to plates and sprinkle with the remaining fruit mixture. Serve warm.
